Exercise support group--week of 6/17!
Happy Father's Day to all you fathers out there. And happy Sunday to everyone else. It's time to set our goals for the week.
My goal this week is the same as last week. I plan to run 19 miles, including one 4 mile run.

I am shooting for 45 miles this week. My sciatica is giving me some trouble again.....so I don't want to overdo it.

Kathy, you make it sound like 45 miles is a light week. Well, it might be for you, but that's incredible to me. You rock!

Re: Exercise support group--week of 6/17!
happy father's day everyone!
This week's goal...to walk 10 miles/power walking and to run 6 miles. Hopefully, my feet will cooperate. If I don't complete the running, I'll make it up on the eliptical.
I also want to get in 3 days of weights...and ab crunches.
Good luck to you all...we will reach our goals...by the grace of God.
PS: I start up in my new role here in Florida tomorrow....wish me luck...please pray that I can handle all the new responsibilities in this role here at work. Thank you!

thank you kathy, you are a good friend on here.
Well..we went to a beach area, and did some walking around today--no major workout to speak of...I decided to take today as a break....it's father's day...and we are going to cook out. I was surprised...dh wanted to cook out and not go out to eat? who woulda thunk it?
See you all here tomorrow evening...I plan on working out after I get home from work.

Re: Exercise support group--week of 6/17!
Well, the last couple days have been a bust for me. My mom came to visit, so we didn't do much walking. We only did about 1/2 hr Friday night, and Saturday was spent shopping, so technically I walked for several hours, but it's not the same.
Goal is the same--1-1.5 hrs a day walking. I did get my new bike trailer, so I'll have to start working that in too. I know it'll go slow, I haven't ridden my bike in a long time. So for now, no goal on it, just start to get used to using those muscles, and learn how to drive with the baby trailer attached.

Tammy, that railer sounds like it will be fun, especially for the kids. Keep us posted on how that goes.
I forgot to mention that I ran 3 miles yesterday. Today I did my long run for the week: 4 miles. So that leaves 12 more to go this week.

Good job, Frank! It's always great to start the week on the right foot, so to speak.

I see your up to a 4 mile run once a week. Nice job.
Is 3 miles getting easier for you?

Re: Exercise support group--week of 6/17!
Had a bit of a step back last week. Not a bad one, but I need to find a way to get some extra exercise in this week. I'm going for 30 minutes of walking the dog every day, 3 cardio workouts, & 3 weight days. Already got 1 day of dog walking, 1 cardio, & 1 weights done yesterday.
I need to really buckle down on my calories this week since I'm not getting near the exercise I normally would since I'm not at home.

Had an eye opener myself on Fri. The parents played a 60 min game against our 1st grade daughters soccer team. I never got winded or needed to take a break but, 2/3 the way through the game I really ran out of steam. We lost 6 to 9.
Really reminded me again that if a man can still run, he should do both walk & run.
I am looking to walk the dogs 2 miles 5-6 nights a week on top of my routine.
It also made me rethink the lazy mans martial art vs the sweaty martail art.
Keep at it Nick, your doing fine. You just need to get it sorted out. You know what you need to do, real change takes time bro.

Thank you sir, you seem to be doing pretty well yourself. 30 mins @ almost 8 miles is a nice pace. Not a bad bike ride.
I do more inline skating then bike riding. Our bike riding is mostly with the kids, wish I could get more into this area myself. All in good time.
