Default 3rd Order of Jesuits?

I was wondering if anyone knew if the Jesuits had a 3rd Order for lay people. Thanks for any info on this subject.

There is none that I know of, and Jesuits does not have a female counterpart either. However the first community of women religious dedicated to the retreat ministry known today as the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM Sisters) is an offshoot of the Jesuits ministry. The Society of Jesus played a great role in the foundation of this community. The RVM was founded in 1684 by Mother Ignacia of the Holy Spirit. You can visit their site: http://www.rvmonline.net

God bless.

The Jesuits do not have a Third Order, but there is this that may be of interest:

Ignatius Associates would be the closest thing. When I went to a Jesuit High School the Wisconsin Province was one of two Provinces testing out Ignatius Associates. I do not know the status of other Jesuit Provinces.

This is just starting in our community:
Oblates of the Virgin Mary

Introducing the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius,
the formation of the clergy,
the refutation of current errors and defense of sound doctrine,
the propagation of good books and media,
the formation of the laity,
and the missionary apostolate.

There is not yet a third order associated with this.
However, prospects are hopeful.

Actually CLC is not 3rd order, although we work in a very close connection with Jesuits. Usually a Jesuit is our Ecclesial Assistant.
Any CLC member around here?
