Default Exercise support group--week of 7/1!

Happy Sunday, everyone. Time to set goals for the week. I didn't get a chance to run today, but I'm going to try later, if it cools down a little.

My goal is the same as last week: run 20 miles, including a 5 mile long run.

I have to reaaaalllly think of my goals, as I fall short when I set them too high.

Today--we went to the greatest beach....I power walked and the sand 'dunes' helped feel like a mini hike. I wish I had that in my backyard.

Have a good week everyone....my goals will be to workout 5 days this week...trying to do 3 days of high impact activity (eliptical or jogging) with 2 days of lower impact.

If you're talking about the 5 miles, yes. I ran it non-stop. It's a step on my way to reaching my goal of running a half marathon before I turn 50.

I am going for 45-50 miles in 5. The weather promises to be a bit cooler.

Hey everybody,
I'm hoping that I am back into my exercise routine this week. Unfortunately the gym cancelled all of the evening classes I was going to. Now I'm going to have to motivate myself.

It looks like I'll get some kind of exercise every single day this week. That should be great!

I finally broke my pleateau too. I had been stuck at the same weight for more than 2 weeks. Finally broke it. Only went down 1, but still.

Some people claim that running on sand or on grass barefoot helps to alleviate plantar fasciitis problems. Haven't tried it myself.

Signed up for a race in September. It's a .6mile swim/ 38 mile ride/ 6.2 mile run. An odd distance for a triathlon, but it's being held at the same time and the same course as a Half Ironman, so basically we'll just be doing fewer loops of the course. It's a good distance for me to hopefully work up to a Half Ironman next season.

it's so funny that u say that...i did a fair part of the walk barefoot...came back, then put my running shoes on...and i was amazed at how my foot was flexible...not stiff, like when i walk or jog. that's it, i need to live on the beach.

half ironman...that would be impressive. have you heard of coach troy jacobsen? www.spinervals.com that's his website...but he offers a free newsletter there...tips about his training camps...for people doing triathlons. there was a time when i was interested in that.....

I missed my run yesterday, but ran 3 miles this morning. I'm behind schedule for the week, and if I can't make it up soon, I may have to run on my day off, Saturday.
