I am going to buy a nice picture of Pope Benedict and bring it to the most liberal NO priest I can find and ask him to bless it for me

There was a large article on this same exact thing in our Chicago paper over the weekend. Of course they put a negative spin on this, interviewing people that feel "at home" with the NO mass, even bringing out the fact that it will not necessarily "unify" The Church etc., etc. I myself have not attended a latin mass in years but would love to. The article said that alot of the priests would have to attend training and that there has not been much interest expressed by the priests of this diocese as of yet. Of course they don't want to have to go through all that. Would be nice if it were madatory they be retrained to celebrate mass in latin even if only periodically. I think alot of people would respond. Just MHO.

Wow! That article really put me in a good mood! Things are suddenly going so well in the church! Maybe I'm being foolish, but I really think we're seeing the beginning of a revival,

The article is in error about the document, though, as Orthodox Churches ARE proper Churches, and this is said in the document itself. It's Protestant communities that are not Churches, and that shouldn't come as a suprise to anyone as they've been officially called "communities" for years now (which is a step up from what they used to be officially called).

Peace and God bless!

Good point. Their rites are considered valid Catholic rites after all.

Yep! I celebrate one of them every Sunday: the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom.
