Crazy Internet Junkies in Turkey - #67
Ok, let me poke around and get some pics that aren't tied to an album. Maybe I can get the bored camel and the taxi sheep up, too. I've never done this before, so it may take some fumbling.

Either this is Turkish wrestling . . .
. . . or the latest discussions about Mass music in the Liturgy/Sacraments forum.

Re: Crazy Internet Junkies in Turkey - #67
OK, here is a roadsign to Tarsus which I found startling. I thought it was a little town known only in biblical days, but it is a big city.
The camel is the one I rode. It was very awkward getting on to it from a rock conveniently placed nearby. The ride wasn't bad, tho. Kind of rocking back and forth. It was also about 100F and I had to retreat to the shade after a bit, since I got to feeling woozey. It was way too hot for me.

Good evening Junkies,
I am just stopping by to say hello. Made a trip to Miles City this afternoon and have not gotten my house cleaned up. I have stuff stacked all over the place that needs to be put away.
Turkey should be fun

I'm sleepy already, and it's only 10. But we had a busy day. I had to take our 3 kittens to the vet- they have distemper. I have them all on antibiotics, and I'm keeping them in the house tonight. I hope they get better soon. They are looking really pathetic.
This afternoon, I took 3 of the 4 girls to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. We were all pleased with it, and I think they'd go back tomorrow if I let them. I'm glad we went.

It does sound like a busy afternoon.
I went to Miles City to find some connectors for a radio antenna I'm trying to put up so I can use a repeater. The repeater is at the sheriff's office and they were closed already when I got back at 5:15 this afternoon. I'll have to sneak over there tomorrow morning and see if I can get my tower put back up.

It almost appears that we've lost most of our fellow travelers

Re: Crazy Internet Junkies in Turkey - #67
This is the main mosque in Adana, Turkey. Adana is in the far south of Turkey. It was the site of a massacre of Christians which is roundly denied by the government, but from what I have read certainly happened. The place is now known for being hot and close to resort places on the ocean.
The inside is beautiful. The folks you see are Mehmet, our guide and a very nice man, and a friend of my daughter's who came with us. DD had to work that day. I learned from Mehmet that only men consider it at all important to go to the mosque. Women don't usually show up, and if they do, they go to a special set off part in the back.

Katie, thank you for sharing, and I hope that you can put some more up.
Fr, you've been a busy man, too.
I'm falling asleep here, so I'm going to bed. See ya'll later.
