Default Exercise support group--week of 7/15!

Good morning, everyone, and a very blessed and holy Sunday to you all. This is the day the Lord has made for us to set our goals for the week.

It's time for me to crank it up a notch. My goals for the week are to run 21 miles, including a 6 mile long run. I started this morning by getting that long run out of the way. 6 miles is a new personal best for me. I figured that, based on my 5 mile runs, I could do 6 miles in 57 minutes, but actually finished in 54:49!

Oh, and I went out yesterday and bought some Therlos Running Socks, and they worked perfectly. My feet feel fine after the run.

Okay--I think I have found a solution to my commitment problem with jogging/working out. I have decided to seek out a walking/running club. Walking to start off with, as my foot...well , you never know when it's not gonna cooperate...but I'd like to have the freedom to run, if there are people of all fitness levels. I was told that there are a lot of female walking/running clubs in my local area. This will help me to stay focused...if I have people waiting on me, I'll do it daily. Anyways...just sharing with ya'll.

Sharon, that's a great idea. It really helps when people hold us accountable. I wonder if there's any christian walking/running clubs.

Hi,

New to the thread!

I'm just getting into exercising again (besides dog walks/strolls)... bought an OrbiTrek Platinum crosstrainer and on Saturday assembled it and did 5 mins (couldn't do more LOL, it was hard!), and yesterday I managed 10.15 mins! I hope to be able to do 15 mins twice, daily. Keeping Sundays as my day of rest!

My goal is to get up every morning at 5:30 and either do my 1 hour 15 min tkd routine, or run 4 miles and do my tkd forms.

I would also like to walk 2 miles in the evenings, as many nights as I can get out.

This morning 75 minutes of tkd.

well...i was excited i googled and googled...and the only clubs that come up are running ones...and seriously, i had a friend who wanted me to join this back in the day when my foot wasn't like this--and those people are serious runners. To join that would be kind of silly...with this PF problem....but...I found a club that sent me a newletter today, on how to build your own walking club?? I dunno...I kinda wanted it to already be established. Must everything take work? lol

Hi, Heather. Welcome to the group. It's great to have you here. Sounds like you're doing a good job of building up endurance. Keep it up!

Hmmmm . . . perhaps you could start a group in your parish. Wouldn't that be fun? You'd be good at that, Sharon. You did a great job starting this group.

Well, I'm in Golden, Colorado now. Since I had an early flight this morning, I couldn't run this morning, so I ran this evening. The treadmill in the hotel wasn't working, so I went out for a run despite the heat (95+) and humidity. It was a really hard run, but I got in my 3 miles. So I'm up to 9 so far this week.
