I voted no, but our parish already has a Latin NO, so I think it was sort of a non issue.

Still not the same thing. But, then I think this might be some Bishop's solution to forbid the TLM.

We have the TLM available to us in very close by parishes in Detroit - Archbishop Cardinal Maida is not trying to forbid anything.

Im under the impression, which may be completely wrong, that Cardinal Maida would like to see TLM "contained" within the three "traditional" parishes of the diocese (ie. St. Jos., Grotto, and SS. Cyril & Methodious).

Those with whom I spoke regarding this question have also said that their parishes did not speak about the MP. I'm wondering if they are waiting until there is a complete understanding of it or a form letter to recite to the parishes or place in the bulletin. I do know that our director of liturgy for our archdiocese is seeking to get into TLM classes so that he can say it correctly. Apparently they are so many registering it's hard to get a place for the class. So that's a good sign in my eyes.

Well, that's a completely moot point now, isn't it. I don't like to comment on "impressions" - do you have any facts to support your "impression"?

Should I vote "yes" or "no"?

At the indult Latin Mass parish I attend, yes. At the English-language parish where I am a member, no.

I checked "Yes in the bulletin" however what appeared in the bulletin was more of a "what is the Tridentine Mass" than a "This is what the MP said" thing.

Yep...it was mentioned in the bulletin. I've already written the pastor a response because the article was negative.

Still nothing here. But we might have a priest about 10 miles from here that wants to celebrate the TLM. This would be wonderful.

Not in my parish.

In fact, I asked one of the priests after Mass if he was going to brush up on his Latin? His response: "No way!"

I took this to mean that he sees no need to, since (1) he hopes no one at our modern, progressive "community" would even want a TLM, and (2) one cannot "brush up" on what one never knew! Unfortunately, no one can compel him or any priest not so qualified to consider saying a TLM, whether a bishop or Benedict XVI himself. Without a "stable group" requesting a TLM at a particular locale, or without the availability of a priest competent to offer the TLM, WE DON'T GET ONE!
