Actually, I went to Hatteras once before then, while I was still in college. I rode down with a couple of my friends from University Christian Outreach, a guy I knew fairly well and a girl I knew and liked, but considered "too holy" for me.

Anyway, we stopped at the dunes of Kitty Hawk, not far from the Wright Brothers monument. All of a sudden, I felt these hands around my waist. I at first thought it was my female counterpart, but then quickly realized it wasn't. Then this face appears from around my waist, and this poor girl quickly realizes she's got the wrong guy. She was embarrassed, and I didn't know what to say.

An interesting start to my vacation!

And my mom and dad met in Ocean City, MD . . . in a bar!

If you ever go there, check out Randy Hofman's Christian sand sculptures.

Naaah, I was too chicken. I spent the rest of the vacation sizing up just about every girl that was there. (My hormones were raging, whaddya want? )

Actually, I just went to lunch. I don't leave for a couple hours yet.

But welcome everyone. It appears we've begun at my "home" beach at Cape Hatteras, to which I have to admit never having gone. Here is a dawn picture though so we can begin at peace.

Naturally we can move along to some of your favorite beaches, perhaps taking some time to just let Him give us rest for our souls.

Nope...too busy contemplating and getting in touch with my interior sandcastle. It's Carmelite beach spirituality.
