It boasts the largest wholesale market in the world, lays claim to being one of the top convention cities in the nation and the number one visitor destination in Texas. There is much more but these are just a few reasons why Dallas is considered by many, as the Southwest's most metropolitan and cosmopolitan city. The City of Dallas had a population in 2000 by the U.S. Census of 1,188,580. A revised population figure for Jan. 2007 by The North Central Texas Council of Governments put the total at 1,280,500.

I think they're out now but last I heard I30 and I35 were still closed down. I'm glad we're virtual travelers or it would take a while to get downtown.

Oooh, that would be cool. She's going there to visit my wife's grandmother, who happens to be the mother of my wife's uncle, Chuck Norris. Grandma said she'll have Chuck's limo driver pick her up at the airport.

Now, here on the east coast, the worst you'd have to deal with are exploding manhole covers. They're quite notorious...

This view is looking towards Houston and Elm Streets. The site of the infamous structure formerly the Texas School Book Depository building built in 1901. Almost a million people a year visit the site of the JFK assassination

Yes, I've been there. There's also an X in the street where Kennedy was shot.
