If you need any help, just let me know. It's shockingly simple once you figure it out, but until then it can be annoyingly difficult. Basically, you have to make sure you put the bookmarks and notes in the right directory of your computer's synch software. Der. Maybe that's obvious to everyone else, but it wasn't for me.
It's slightly buggy, at least with the Baptism notes, though. I've found that whenever there's a bookmark for the first chapter and verse of any particular book, it's a false bookmark. Also, if you look at the 44 page Word document that comes with the software, you'll notice that many of the notes don't have corresponding bookmarks. You have to put them in manually. It's time consuming, but a good way to learn verses.

Re: PDA Apologetics is cool!
To clarify, then, if I already have the NAB via Olive Tree on my PDA, I can also download John's program for the bookmarks and they'll synch up?

Yes, John's program is actually a set of bookmark files and note files for Olive Tree. I had been thinking about doing somehting like this myself, but I wsn't quite sure how it worked. I do think it was worth the money not having to do it myself.

Yeah. John just notified his e-mail list, though. They're not his bookmarks and notes. So far the notes seem pretty good, but I'm still calibrating everything.

It's well worth it. If you're familiar with Olive Tree, you know how to type notes in there and set bookmarks. However, if you're using a PDA, even if it's got a big QWERTY keyboard like mine (Cingular 8125), typing is still slow. The better route is to do all your cutting, pasting and typing in a Word document, and then putting it on your PDA, and then c/p'ing to the appropriate places from there.
MUCH faster is to shell out the ten bucks and build off of an already robust set of bookmarks and notes.

First, unzip the files to whatever directory you want.
Second, find the path Olive Tree uses for its databases. In mine it's /My Documents/Bible/.
Third, in your synch software on your computer, put the unzipped files into that directory.
Finally, synch your device/computer.
I'll be leaving in about half an hour, and I'll be home later tonight. Let me know if you have any problems.
I'm finding that there's still a bit of manual work to do getting all the notes in the attached 44-page Word file that need to be placed with their corresponding bookmarks. It's a pain, but once done, it's good.
Cheers,
MM

Thanks! I have everything set up and working. Just have to transcribe the extra notes.
I really appreciate your posting this here -- I'm a technophile and love to have EVERYTHING at my fingertips. Now I can have really great apologetics texts at the click of a stylus.

www.sqpn.com
I wasnt really sure where to post this, but having recently found a cool podcast called the "Catholic Insider" done by a Dutch priest (in English) I was amazed to find a whole website dedicated to Catholic podcasting. (initiated by him)
The website is
www.sqpn.com
I URGE you to go ahead and check it out. Its amazing!!
If you have "itunes" you will know what a podcast is (basically a radio show that you can download and listen to whenever you want, on either your pc computer, mac, or an ipod, or other mp3 players). The podcasts are listed on the left of the webpage down the side.
This is a great tool for evangelisation. There are Catholic podcasts on Harry Potter, Pirates of the Carribean, even Catholic Rock music!! etc... Dont worry, there are also podcasts not focused on movies or films etc... such as Rosary Army or The SaintCast.
Go and check it out, there are all sorts of different podcasts by different people, but they are all Catholic.
Its an excellent way to introduce friends to the faith without being too "boring"
p.s One podcast currently not on the website is one called "Word on Fire" , you can find it by searching on the podcast section of itunes for "Word on Fire". He is one almighty preacher, you can feel the Holy Spirit flowing through his words.

Re: PDA Apologetics is cool!
P.S. I think the bullet points at www.scripturecatholic.com were made for a tool like this. By themselves, the points at Scripture Catholic are helpful, but you're always having to flip back to the verse to check it. With the split screen of Olive Tree's software, all you have to do is check the split screen--the actual verse and his commentary on one page.
Man, I need a life...

This man is literally SHINING with the Holy Spirit.
Oddly enough, I just started a thread about podcasts, only to look up and see this sticky. Guess I should pay more attention

Re: PDA Apologetics is cool!
I started going throught the provided word document and checking against the bookmarks and notes and I see what you mean about some problems. But I am finding myself enjoying the process because it is forcing me to check the scriptural basis for the churches teachings.
