Default Crazy Internet Junkies In Hanover PA #70

Size: 3.5 KB

Hanover is a borough in York County, Pennsylvania, 19 miles (31 km) southwest of York and 54 miles (87 km) north-northwest of Baltimore, Maryland. The population was 14,535 at the 2000 census. The borough is served by an 717 area code and the Zip Codes of 17331-34.

Situated in a productive agricultural region, Hanover was settled about 1730 and incorporated in 1815. In the past, its industries included the making of cigars, gloves, silks, flavine, water wheels, flour, shirts, shoes, machine-shop products, furniture, wire cloth, and ironstone grinders. The town has lent its name to a brand of canned vegetables, and a mail-order gift company based there.

Hanover is named after the German city of Hannover.

During the American Civil War, the Battle of Hanover was fought on June 30, 1863. Union cavalry under Judson Kilpatrick encountered Confederate cavalry under J.E.B. Stuart and a sharp fight ensued in the town and in farm fields to the south, particularly along Frederick Street. The inconclusive battle delayed the Confederate cavalry on their way to the Battle of Gettysburg. Three days before the battle, another detachment of Virginia cavalry had briefly occupied Hanover, collecting supplies and horses from local citizens.
Hanover is five miles (8 km) north of the Mason-Dixon line.

The original city plan was drawn-up in 1763 by Richard McAllister, proprietor of a local tavern.

Hanover is the seventh largest retail area in the state.

The Greater Hanover area has a population of about 55,000 residents. The community is made up of several areas such as Hanover Borough, Penn Township, Heidlberg Township, Manheim Township, (that's me ) West Manheim Township, Conewago Township, Berwick Township, and Union Township. All of these areas have Hanover, PA listed as their address.

Lake Marburg, Codorus State Park, right down the road, it's the perfect place for a picnic! Come on over!

She even brought along an old Junkie recipe.

Brownie Recipe for busy Mom's

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remove teddy bear from oven and preheat oven to 375.
Melt 1 cup margarine in saucepan.

Remove teddy bear from oven and tell Billy "no, no."

Add margarine to 2 cups sugar.

Take shortening can away from Billy and clean cupboards.

Measure 1/3 cup cocoa.

Take shortening can away from Billy again and bathe cat.

Apply antiseptic and bandages to scratches sustained while removing shortening from cat's tail.

Assemble 4 eggs, 2 tsp. vanilla, and 1-1/2 cups sifted flour.

Take smoldering teddy bear from oven and open all doors and windows for ventilation.

Take telephone away from Billy and assure party on the line the call was a mistake. Call operator and attempt to have direct dialed call removed from bill.

Measure 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 cup nuts and beat all ingredients well.

Let cat out of refrigerator.

Pour mixture into well-greased 9x13-inch pan.

Bake 25 minutes.

Rescue cat and take razor away from Billy. Explain to kids that you have no idea if shaved cats will sunburn. Throw cat outside while there's still time and he's still able to run away.

Frosting

Mix the following in saucepan:

1 cup sugar
1 oz unsweetened chocolate
1/4 cup margarine
Take the darn teddy bear out of the @#$% broiler and throw it away -- far away.
Answer the door and meekly explain to nice policeman that you didn't know Billy had slipped out of the house and was heading for the street. Put Billy in playpen.

Add 1/3 cup milk, dash of salt, and boil, stirring constantly for 2 minutes.

Answer door and apologize to neighbor for Billy having stuck a garden hose in man's front door mail slot. Promise to pay for ruined carpet.

Tie Billy to clothesline.

Remove burned brownies from oven.

Top ten uses for leftover Fruit cake

10. Use slices to balance that wobbly computer desk.

9. Use instead of sand bags during Summer Flooding.

8. Send to U.S. Air Force, let troops drop them instead of expensive bombs.

7. Use as railroad ties in your garden.

6. Use as saw horse for your next building project.

5. Collect them and sell them on e-bay.

4. Use as and ice scraper on frosty mornings.

3. Save for next summer's garage sale.Garage sale junkies will buy anything.

2. Sell to skeet-shooters for their next skeet-shooting competition.

1. Send to Aunt Hazel...It's her dang recipe anyway. She deserves the leftovers.

Thanks! I just guessed as to what I was supposed to do!

Just go off the phone with my sister, her daughter is moving this weekend, just catching up.

My parents still haven't arrived yet, should be here anytime. Just got my second cup (20 oz, I don't mess around ) of joe.
