Default Exercise support group--week of 8/5!

Happy New Week!!!!

Time for goal setting, everyone. For me, this a taper down week, as my 10K run is next Saturday, 8/11. So, I plan to run 11 miles prior to the 10K. I ran 3 miles today, and I'll run 2 miles per day Mon - Thur and take Friday off.

Haven't posted much here in a while, so I guess I better start getting back to participating again. I hit a wicked plateau a couple of months ago. It didn't seem to matter what I did I could not get through it. Cut calories, increase exercise, nothing seemed to work. It lasted like 8 weeks. Well, finally beat it 2 weeks ago (with the help of LOTS of cardio). Not only did I get through it, I think I annihilated it. I dropped 6 lbs below my plateau weight in 1 week. I'm now 4 lbs away from the weight I graduated high school at. That's pretty darn impressive in my opinion.

Oh, I gotta set a goal too huh? How about 5 days of some kind of exercise. Already got 1 day yesterday.

Massively impressive. Great success.

I have not been as successful for the past few weeks with meeting my goals but I will not give up.

Ahh, my good friend Jen. Always nice to hear from you!

Are you still recovering from being sick a few weeks ago?

Nick, it's great to see you back again. Kudos on the weight loss. What an inpirational story.

Jenn, it's great to see you, too. You can do it, girl! Can you still fit in that borg outfit?

I ran 2 miles this morning, so I'm at 5 miles for the week.

You're running a 10K this weekend huh? That's really impressive. Especially considering you just ran your 1st 5K not that long ago. At this rate you'll be running a marathon by New Years.

Ha! I don't see me ever running a marathon. However, I am training for a half marathon next June. Each month, I'm increasing my long run by 1 mile. So, the 10k this Saturday is part of the training. It'll be interesting, as it's around a lake in the local mountains, so the elevation will be much higher than I'm used to.

today: run 2hr 2min 10.78 miles

I didn't get my 3.5 hr long ride in last week... I'm going to switch out a 45min swim planned for this morning and a 1hr 15min ride on Friday, and do the 3.5 hr ride on Friday in their place...
