Patron Saints Challenge
Every situation and occupation seems to have a designated patron saint. Even Arms Dealers have one: Adrian of Nicomedia. Can anyone think of an occupation or situation that doesn't have one? The website Catholic OnLine ( www.catholic.org) has a good listing of patron saints to help you get started.

Here are a couple of "occupations"/situations that, I think, do not have patron saints: agnostics and atheists. How's that for a start?

Re: Patron Saints Challenge
Clever, but not clever enough. The patron of "enemies of religion" is Saint Sebastian. I know that sounds weird but you can check it out at the site mentioned in my thread.

Re: Patron Saints Challenge
On another forum it was suggested that the patron saint of abortion is Lucifer. Well, Lucifer was not a saint. The patron saint for protection against abortion is St. Catherine of Sweden. Again, check out the web site on my original post. This is harder than I think you realize. (maybe that's why I am not getting many posts)

Re: Patron Saints Challenge
Patron Saint of Preachers (not priests) is St. Catherine of Alexandria and St. John Chrysostom,,It is nice that men and women preachers each have one of their own gender!
St. Vitus is for dancers--close enough for strippers?
Patron Saints re Sexual Temptation are Angela of Foligno,
Catherine of Siena, Margaret of Cortona, Mary of Edessa,
Mary of Egypt, Mary Magdalen, Mary Magdalen of Pazzi, and
Pelagia of Antioch. Take your pick.
Patron of Computer Users is Isidore of Seville.
Remember. patron saints cann be for situations, or against something, or linked to an occupation. You decide if the above are close enough. I could imagine a protestant minister seeking inspiration from studying a famous saint.

I accompanied my BF to his church (SDA) and the pastor's sermon centered around his admiration for St Maximilllian Kolbe.
How about that! Imagine, giving the Catholic church a plug in an SDA church.

I'm glad I found your thread. I did find the ones for prostitutes all right, but not at the website given (believe it or not, I found Sts. Margaret of Cortona, Mary Magdalene and Mary of Egypt listed as patron saints of REFORMED prostitutes at www.catholic-forum.com!) Thanks again for info on the other website, though.)
