I was wondering, I just noticed someone miscarried on the mommies thread. How very very sad!

I think we should pray not only for those TTC, but also those already with child.

Next novena for the pregnant mommies? Anybody?
What a wonderful idea!

Thank you for directing me to this thread. I will be starting the novena a little late - but I hope it is okay for me to 'jump in'.

I was listening to Relevant Radio today and heard something I think the rest of you would be interested in. There is a priest currently up for beatification who seems to be a great person to pray to for unborn children. His name is Father Stanislaus and he founded the Marian Fathers order. Here's the main website dealing with his beatification: http://stanislawpapczynski.org/en/index.php

The miracle attributed to him for his beatification (recently approved by the Pope) involves an unborn child. The woman was 7-8 weeks pregnant and had several ultrasounds, at least one of which confirmed that the baby was growing normal. A day or two later, another ultrasound showed no fetal heartbeat and decreased size of the fetal sac. The doctors told her she was having a miscarriage and asked that she come back in a few days if she did not miscarry naturally. Her family (especially an uncle) prayed to Father Stanislaus for the health of the unborn child and 3 days after the ultrasound indicated the fetus had died, a subsequent ultrasound showed the fetus was growing and had a strong heartbeat. The Vatican team who investigates these things verifed this as a miracle - unexplainable by medical science. (The child is now 5 and continues to grow normally.)

Perhaps when we begin our novena for pregnant mommies we could include this holy man in our list of saints to ask for intercession. The whole idea of a potential saint for unborn babies makes me really happy with our current culture of death.

And don't forget St. Gianna Molla! www.saintgianna.org She not only interceded to help me conceive, but got both of us through my high-risk pregnancy with no complications, and little Gianna Elizabeth (her namesake )was born healthy.

If you don't know her story, she was an Italian doctor who gave her life for her unborn baby by refusing chemotherapy or surgery that would have killed her baby after being diagnosed with uterine cancer during her pregnancy with her 4th child.

Oh, Whiteyacht, that's wonderful!! Congratulations.

Maybe we need to start a support thread for first time parents, whether they're pregnant or adopting. I know I could use it.

That's a good idea! Start it up! I am starting a kind of different thread. I am going to make it soon. Families of two. You'll see.
