Default EXERCISE SUPPORT GROUP -week of 10/7

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad. And let us set goals for our excercise this week. It is an honor and a duty for us to maintain the Temple of the Holy Spirit, our bodies.

My goal is the same as last week: to run 23 miles, including an 8 mile long run. I did the 8 mile run this morning. It was tough, as the winter winds started blowing last night. While I was running, the winds were blowing around 25-30 MPH. That slowed me down, and dried me up. But I made it.

Bad week for me last week. Only managed 26 + miles. I was really wiped out with a cough and cold. I feel better, so I suppose I'll shoot for ....oh let's say 45 over 5.

Kathy, sometimes those illnesses are God's way of telling us to slow down. You been pushing it hard lately, and doing a great job, so don't feel bad. I'm still impressed with you.

Thanks Michael....I need some encouragement. I am not real happy with what the scale is telling me these days.

Hi everyone!

My goal for this week is 12 miles. I have set it a little high for me, but I really think I can do it. I've already started with 3 miles after church today. I really enjoied the walk with my son.

God Bless

Pam

Good morning everyone!
I got in another mile this morning so I'm up to 4 miles for this week already! Pray for me as I try to complete my goal for this week.

Hey Guys,
I walked another 3 miles this afternoon so I'm now up to 7 miles for this week! Please continue to pray for me as I strive to meet my goal for this week.

God Bless!

The goal this week is to do at least one 30+ mile run, which I have planned for Thursday. The actual distance I go will depend on whether or not I have slept recently, how much time I have off, and whether or not my muscles are still cramping up 3-4 miles into each run (more the latter than the previous 2).

Also took the time to plan out my race schedule for the first couple months next year:
Feb 16th: Sequoia 50k
April 5th: American River 50m
June 16-17th: Bighorn (distance dependent on what I have to run 2 weeks later)
June 28-29th: Pace friend at the Western States 100m, i.e. run the last 38 miles with him and tell him useful information like if he stops eating/puking and just gets running again then he may finish before sunrise.

Pacing for the WS100 will depend on whether or not said friend gets in this year (the last 2 years he was not selected in the lottery, but they let him in anyway because he is fast, and cool). If I pace there, then I will run the 50 miler at Bighorn. If I do not pace then maybe we will both do a 100 at Bighorn, or he will do the 100 and I will do the 50, or he will do the 100 and I will pace the last 70 miles with him. Then again, all of this was decided by a group decision after 30 hours of no sleep and 24 straight hours of work and may change once we decide to sleep . Or if we have to work those weekends.

Excellent and it is only Monday. Or Tuesday? Watch says Monday. That leaves a very doable 5 miles for the rest of the week .

Seems like I am sorta back in the groove. I had slightly under 10 miles for the day yesterday. On pace for 45 in 5!

Still having issues with motivation & calories on the weekends. Seems like every time I think I'm going to get back on track something else happens to knock me off.

Yesterday's totals

Calories: 1,765
Exercise: Walked a round of golf + 40 minutes of TKD

Me too! My exercising last week was deplorable. I have started the week out strong but eating is also strong.
