Default Love's Desires

Quote:
Love’s Desires

Let him kiss me with kisses of his mouth!
More delightful is your love than wine!
Your name spoken is a spreading perfume –
That is why the maidens love you.

Draw me!
We will follow you eagerly!
Bring me, O King, to your chambers.
(The Song of songs 1:1-3)
Oh, how this expresses my desire! My Lord!

While adoring You in the Chapel this Saturday morning,
Kneeling only a few feet from your tabernacle,
My heart drifted to a far away land.

Under the bright sunshine, in the gentle breeze,
Standing in the middle of a flower sea,
You were stretching out your arms,
waiting for me, for me alone.

With short hair flying to the back,
I ran to you in a slow motion.
With a pounding heart,
I threw myself into your embrace.

My tears silently fell down.
Was I still in that little Chapel?
Or was I in your love garden?
The scene was so real,
So real, can even be rerun any time!

I wish I could be so in love wiht the Lord as you! This is a beautiful poem, well written, and a tribute to God's Desire for us to visit Him in the Blessed Sacrament. Thank you for sharing your heart with us

Day and Night

My soul longs for You,
My spirit thirsts for You.
Day and night,
I dwell on your commands,
like a tree planted by the stream,
absorbing your living water.

My soul longs for You,
My spirit thirsts for You.
Day and night,
I think of You,
like a flower bathing in the sun,
savoring your glowing light.

My soul longs for You,
My spirit thirsts for You.
Day and night,
I desire your presence,
like a child delights in his mother,
trusting your loving care.

My soul longs for You,
My spirit thirsts for You.
Dany and night,
I want to be with you,
like a bride clings to her King,
delving your tender love.

My soul longs for You,
My spirit thirsts for You.
Day and night,
Oh, my Lord!
Weave your beig into mine.
Make my heart belong to You, every part!

A Song in My Heart

My Beloved,
My heart longs for you.
My spirit yearns for you.
I totally belong to you.
I will delight with you forever!

Your words are my comfort.
Your call is my charm.
Like a morning star,
You light me up from inside.
I will delight with you forever!

I have come to your garden.
I gather the sweet honey,
I drink freely of love.
My heart trembles from within.
I will delight with you forever!

Your kiss is sweeter than wine.
Your caress satisfies me.
Your name is a spreading perfume.
Hold me tight as your own.
I will delight with you forever!

Your gaze is piercing.
My heart is burning.
I grow faint with love.
Set me with you as a seal.
I will delight with you forever!

Autumn Exclamation!

In a rainbow contest,
the autumn trees go!
With the burst of beauty,
new colors flow.
Losing life,
a tree finds life.
Dying to self,
Resurrections glow.

Letting go of self,
I must put on Christ.
Embracing humility,
I hope to run fast.
Choosing to be vulnerable,
I learn to love.
Dying to flesh,
I revive the spirit.

The trees are telling the truth,
do we catch it?
Reality echoes in the air,
so is God’s grandeur.
The kingdom is at hand,
for us to comprehend.
Rejoice and receive it,
as an autumn exclamation!

A Rainy Day

The sky is gray,
it is a rainy day.
Back and forth,
the windshield wipers sway.

A long journey is ahead,
a lone trip spread.
I have prayed for sunshine,
but the sun is shy.

With my Lord by my side,
things will be alright.
However the day is,
so will the strength be.

Down pouring may blur my sight,
the travel may not be light.
Yet my heart is assured,
with my Lord I move forward.

The Night Light
- in memory of Pat Poole

The small night light,
silently attached on the wall.
Glowing in the dark,
through the cover of an orange seashell.

In the night of loneliness,
when I miss your friendship much.
I turn on that switch
of the light you once gave.

The hallway is in radiance,
vague yet comforting.
You moved away from this world,
to be living with the Lord.

How I cherished your company,
in each Saturday evening Mass.
Those were the days!
There is no replace.

I never expected this to happen.
How little did I know?
Every chance of togetherness,
could be the last glimpse of closeness.

Your sudden farewell
reminds me of true welfare.
What could be more important?
than the relationship with our Lord!

For we will never know,
when is time to go.
How could we not be prepared?
For this critical moment of truth!

I remember your kindness,
your love will last.
Our mutual share and care,
will remain near and dear.

You are still in my prayers.
just like I am in yours.
Thoughts from yonder or here,
God always knowingly hears.

Give it All

Knowing you want it all,
I want to heed your call.
With my human weakness,
and sincere meekness.

In spite of my fault,
your grace could be caught.
with my posture low,
your blessings flow.

It’s a journey of efforts,
with day in and day out tussles.
It’s a long road to holiness,
an ever longing for your closeness.

Knowing you want it all,
I strive to follow your call.
Hold my hand in yours,
help me give it all.

If Only

Once upon a time,
in the days of my young faith,
hard as I wish,
I couldn’t ease my father’s anguish.

With tears in eyes,
and pain on his face,
father’s lament on his approaching end,
foreshadowed the destiny at hand.

How I wanted to assure him!
But, lack of my own certainty,
I allowed his fear mingled with mine,
in spite of salvation we shared in divine.

Years after walking on God’s way,
long after father’s passing away,
my faith turned into a reality,
no more doubt about eternity.

How I wished I was so sure,
yet everything takes time to reassure.
I would have the solace offered,
if only my faith was once so solid.

Shadow

Quote:
"The love we have for you, O Lord,
is only a shadow of your love for us;
Only a shadow of your love for us,
Your deep abiding love.
Our own belief in you, O Lord,
is only a shadow of your faith in us;
Only a shadow of your faith in us,
Your deep and lasting faith
.”
This song caused me to wonder,
ever since that Sunday Mass.
A subtle sentiment
tinkles on the string of my heart.

So true it is, O Lord,
that apart from you,
I am nothing but nothing.
But should I just remain as a shadow?

How about being a crystal?
Thus your grace may shine through,
your splendor is reflected.
Should I be a crystal instead of a shadow?

Yet all beauty is still yours,
all goodness is yours alone!
A shadow or a crystal,
in you only, Lord, is all the glory!

A Dark Night Imagined

I cannot recall
if there was ever such a night.
But I do remember
a dark night once imagined.

After a day of busyness,
some social gatherings after,
with all lights off,
I lay wide awake.

Imagining dark night of the soul,
a journey in the desert with no water,
my heart couldn’t contain
how does anyone sustain!

I can’t survive his absence,
even for a short distance!
A weak soul as I am,
will never last without I AM.

How could he not answer my call?
and stay indifferent to my cry?
Searching in vain for his face,
I may not be able to hold my faith.

Must one endure such desolation?
Could one skip the purgation?
In that imagined pitch darkness,
silent tears flow in the stillness.

A Date in the Evening

A date in the evening
becomes my daily delight.
A time to look forward to,
in the beautiful sanctuary.

Sometimes in the sunset,
a golden ray lingers on the Crucifix,
like the forever love
flowing out of the Sacred Heart.

When the lights are on,
The shadow of the Cross
blends with the flickering candle,
witnessing the glory of the tabernacle.

With the pouring rain outside
and howling wind surround,
I’m eager to stay around,
keeping my Lord a company.

Kneeling in his Presence,
savoring his glamour,
I open my soul ample
and keep my heart humble.

He touches me with a gaze,
splatter me with thirst.
O Lord, teach me to love,
as you are the perfect Lover!

My Cat Popcorn

Day in and day out,
in my empty nest,
my cat named Popcorn
is my faithful companion.

Whenever I sit down,
She has to cuddle on my lap.
She follows me everywhere,
attached like a glue.

When she plays in the backyard,
as soon as she hears my call,
she dashes in as an arrow.
Her obedience pleases me always.

She is not behaving all the time.
She does things bad.
But I am never really mad,
as soon as she returns, I am glad.

Watching my cat Popcorn,
reminds me of myself with the Lord.
I cannot help smile
at the interesting parallel!

Precious Friend

I have a precious friend,
I cherish him very much.
the deep love he has for me,
I can never comprehend.

His love is never ceasing,
forever sweet and pleasing.
He walks by my side,
and keeps me in his sight.

His presence is most dear,
nothing I should fear.
Whether it’s mountain or valley,
he is always with me.

How do I deserve this precious friend?
He even dies for me.
I can never pay him back,
but his love for me will never lack.

The Sound of Silence

I love the sound of silence.
All is in quietness.
Your gaze and mine,
exchanged in gentleness.

I try to be still,
but there is much to tell.
Without lips moving,
my heart, pouring.

Thanks for your patience.
Praises for your acceptance.
I lay myself transparent,
for you are omniscient.

My heart leaps with joy,
while catching your whisper.
Help me heed your voice,
I want to seek right choice.

Your holiness cleanses my soul.
Your love brings me comfort.
My heart is full of sentiment,
in the loving sound of silence.
