What does the Church say about wealth?
Hello,
I've been having a debate with my roommate regarding the Church's teaching on material wealth. I know that Scripture says that "love of money is the root of all evil," and "it is easier for a camel to pass through the Eye of a Needle than for a rich man to enter heaven." Yet, when I look at wealthy people like Tom Monaghan (Head of the Ave Maria Foundation, founder of Domino's Pizza) and see them using their material wealth for good, I wonder what my roommate is thinking when he says that someone like Blessed Teresa of Calcutta is a better example because she was a witness without material wealth.
