What ministry or gifts..
Greetings! Since those who have joined this new forum arrived via various links, what ministry have you served in your parish? We could include those we have now, or have had in the past. In this fashion we can get to know more about each other.
This isn't limited to that which has a title but anything that is a blessing in or to the Church.
In the past, cleaning the parish has been something I've loved to do. My husband taught First Communion, and both of us have done some teaching.
I restore statues. That's not a normal thing, but it's my thing.
If you have a favorite area of apologetics work or preference conversationally, that too would be nice to know.
God bless y'all.
Theresa (aka Tabitha)

Re: What ministry or gifts..
I've sung in many a chior, and currently serve as cantor at one of our Sunday Masses. I also have started a Gregorian Schola to chant for our monthly Latin Mass.
I also serve as an RCIA catechist and have for the past three years.
Just this past year I was elected to serve on the parish council.
I've done a few odd jobs, internet related things... mostly whatever needs done.
Pax,
Matt

I am currently a member of St Vincent DePaul and landings (we welcome back fallen away Catholics). I was also in our ladies club and assisted with RE. I am very involved in my daughter's Catholic school.

Re: What ministry or gifts..
When I was a junior in high school I started serving as a cantor and was then involved in music in various ways for several more years afterwards.
I actually served as the director of religious education at my parish for three and a half years, ending my tenure fairly recently. In that office, I oversaw all faith formation in the parish, from pre-school religious education to RCIA and adult religious education offerings.

Re: What ministry or gifts..
I taught CCD to Jr. Highers - but they drove me nuts!
I also play cello in the orchestra occasionally. But they don't like to practice so I have avoided it lately.
However, I am a lector and I really like this.
I would like to teach CCD again but I think it should be broke down into groups of boys and girls - not co-ed.

Re: What ministry or gifts..
I am in the choir, cantor, substitute musican at Sunday Masses when the music director is on vacation, and provide music for any number of services such as Evening Prayer and Marian Devotions. (I am a classical guitarist.) I led the music at the Youth Mass, such as it was, for a couple of years. I taught first year confirmation prep for several years, and this year I taught second year confirmation prep. And my son and I attend our weekly hour at Perpetual Adoration.

Re: What ministry or gifts..
I am pathologically focused on scripture studies to the exclusion of everything else. I think that's the place to be. I like to share the joy of scripture and to get others' keen insights in it.
Ps 122:1 A song of ascents. Of David.
I rejoiced when they said to me,
"Let us go to the house of the LORD. nab
