Default EXERCISE SUPPORT GROUP -week of 11/11

Happy Veterans Day! And a great big THANK YOU to all those veterans out there.

Well, it's time to set goals for the new week. My goals are the same as last week: Run 24 miles, including a 9 mile long run.

I'm thinking about running a 15K on 12/2, but not sure if I can. I have a sound job on 12/1, and that requires a lot of physical exertion, so I don't know if it's a good idea to run a 15K the next day. Any thoughts?

Well, I'm going for 15 miles again this week. The cold is almost gone, and I feel sure I can do it. I got in 2 miles today.
God Bless you all!

Hi, Pam;

That's an awesome goal. I know you can do it!

I completed my long run, 9 miles, last night, then ran another 3 miles this morning on the treadmill. So I'm halfway to my weekly goal.

Thanks Micheal!

You make me tired just reading what you accomplish each day.

I got in 2 1/2 miles yesterday. I've got a lot to do to make my goal this week.
God Bless,
Pam

That's a great start. Keep it up. Consistency is what makes those goals work.

I ran another 3 miles on the treadmill this morning, so I'm up to 15 miles for the week so far.

Just over 15 miles between the past 2 days. Now if I could only psyche myself into some time on my mini trampoline!

I'm in cardiac rehab following my recent heart attack and am taking baby steps compared to you guys. I'll probably join you after I "graduate" and am responsible for my own exercise program. Right now, I'm doing 17 minutes of arms only on the Schwinn exercise bike and another 17 of arms and legs, then a mile on the treadmill at 3 mph and a 2.5% incline.

Hey, Bob, it is SO great to see you here. I've prayed for your recovery, and it's good to know that you're doing well. Welcome.

I ran another 3 miles this morning, so, if my math is correct, I'm up to 18 miles for the week.

Keep up the good work, everyone!

Been a while since I ve had time to tend to anything online except my e-mail.

A few weeks ago we bought an eliptical. I ve been doing 30 min on this machine Mon-Sat mornings, along with 45 min of tkd. Sun I just do a light 25 min tkd routine.

I ve only missed a day or two at the most in the last 2-3 weeks.

I am not going to talk about the times I get out to walk the dog, or go hiking/bike riding with the kids, this routine is my minimum health & maintanance program, along with being an active family.

I am happy to see many of the same faces here and the new ones.

Keep up the good work folks.

I just wanted to share this with you guys. I became a facilitator for RCIA this year. I went on an RCIA overnight retreat with another RCIA guy last Aug. At that overnight we got a lot of wonderful ideas on how to enrich the program.

When we started sharing this with the Deacon that is leading the program, he already had been invisoning these things.

We are on our way to making a yearly model for the program that goes beyond the sessions. This includes taking the new folks to things like adoration, rosary, vistiting and or helping out an existing ministry like being a greeter for a Mass, working a soup kitchen etc.

We are also going to build a model for an in house RCIA retreat, which most likely won't be finished until next year.

Anyways, life is good hear and I just wanted to share my exictment with whats going on in our ministry.

I never imagined just how much sharing my faith with others would help my own grow.

God Bless

Frank

Way to go Frank! I managed just over 10 miles today. My best in a while as I now attend morning Mass.

2 more miles for me today. That brings my weekly total to 7 miles! I'm gonna hit that goal if it kills me...

Hey, Frank, welcome back. It's great to see you again. I love what you're doing with the RCIA ministry.

Well, I managed to reach my goal last week of running 24 miles.

Come on, everyone to the new thread here.
