Re: Do You Speak More Yankee or Dixie?
I got a 78% Dixie but I take exception to two of the questions. One a foot long sandwich on French anywhere down here is known as a poboy. Second, I don't care what anyone else calls them in the rest of the US, a doodle bug is a doodle bug.
They shoulda' asked questions like what do you call a dragon fly? Ans. Mosquito hawk. What do you call the carousel at an amusement park? Ans. Flying horses. What did you call the dirt that collected around your neck and your inner arm from sweat when you played as a kid? Ans. Grandma beads.

I couldn't bring myself to say crawdad. It might be common elsewhere in the south but no self respecting person from Louisiana would ever say crawdad.

Re: Do You Speak More Yankee or Dixie?
This always surprises me. All my life in Michigan, only 4-5 years in North Carolina, and this is what I get:
44% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.
It must be from having family from all over the country and a husband from the UK that influences how I say things.

I've lived all over, but went to school (college) in PA. I guess my "y'all" wasn't enough to make me dixie!
They missed a question about the wheeled thing used in a food store (cart, buggy, etc.)
