Re: First Timers Meet and Greet #10
Hi there!
I am a 63 yo Irishman whose late brother was a priest in the Irish Diocese of Down and Connor.
I am married (1969) to Marie and have 4 children, 2 x girls and 2 x boys, and 3 grandchildren.
Retire due to heart-trouble I find myself being one who uses Moderated Message Boards in an attempt to get the Catholic (Rome) message across.
That's about it except I believe that John Paul II should be canonised ASAP.

This is a wonderful website for learning about the Catholic Faith. Of course, for the best understanding of Catholicism, sign up at your local parish for RCIA classes.

Greetings to all of humanity,
My cousin who recently lost her eldest son guided me in this direction. Thanks Elsie! I'm new at this and have yet to learn how to use the computer on line to seek answers... Thanks. Nora

I just joined to find out what the difference between doctrine and dogma was. I wanted to make sure that I knew what I was talking about. I didn't realize this forum was available. Thanks for having it available. - cliff

Re: First Timers Meet and Greet #10
Hello! Wonderful to find you. I have been in the Catholic Answers looking at articles but never knew that there was a forum here. I'm so happy. I first learned of Catholic Answers through some wondful Catholic women in a website. I have also heard Father Mitch on EWTN recomend coming here for apologetics and other info.
I joined the RCC Easter of 1999 having been raised Pentecostal and on my own left for the Methodist church. Met my wonderful dh in 1992 and his family we were married in the Methodist church in 1995. Although at the time it was not important to him to get the Catholic Church's permission, it was to me. I am so glad that the Holy Spirit led us that way. It made my growth and transition into the Catholic Church wonderful and in the long run brought dh ever closer (he had become more a Christmas & Easter Christian after confirmation and that more because of his parents "pushing" him). Our first child was born 2000 and our second in 2002. Both baptised in the church and currently in Sunday School (yes, our is right after the last Mass). I'm even teaching my oldest in 1st grade and learning so much myself.
I have loved the church (even long before I joined - I comment that I was a Catholic being brought up in a Protestant world) but really caught on fire in the last year and a half. I'm hungry and want more.
I'm sorry, I'm a chatter box. I could go on and on but look forward to great conversations with you all!
Thank you!
