Lost private message

During my break at work today, I checked my email and found that someone had posted a private message for me, but when I tried to read it, I couldn't find it. I still can't find it tonight.
Any ideas what might have happened & if it's retrievable?

What is the date of the e-mail?

There was a spammer on the forums about 10 days ago. All his PMs were deleted:
SPAM: Erin Pavlina, Virginal White, etc

i'm not sure--but that first name the spammer used could have been the one. I think I'll just wait. If it was a real message, maybe whoever it was will try again.
