Default Great Political game

hello all,
I just recently became a member of "nationstates.net," which is a nation simulator. I just wanted to invite all of you to join. I know we're not supposed to endorse outside sites, but I'm more or less endorsing the game itself.

if you want to try it out, just follow the instructions to get in, and then search for the region called "Papal States." Just enter the word "benedict" as the password, and you'll be a member! It's a really great game that allows you to be a leader from your computer desk

Okay, I tried. No luck with it. Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem with the nation/password?

Nice to see you around here again!

Yeah - I had taken a bit of a Sabatical after some people took it upon themselves to harass me about somethings I had written here.

Step by step - 1. Create nation. 2. You'll probably start off in the "South Pacific Region," so do a search for Papal States. 3. once you find them, then click in the region and join, using benedict as a password. 4. Someone told me that if I had trouble getting in, it might be because of my cookie settings.

It's a nice political simulation, with different issues coming up every day, ranging from deadly serious to moderately funny. For example, here is the summary of my nation. It is determined by how you handle the issues that come up.

"The Most Serene Republic of Legionis Papae is a small, devout nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 14 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The large government concentrates mainly on Religion & Spirituality, although Law & Order and Education are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 18%. A substantial private sector is led by the Furniture Restoration industry, followed by Trout Farming and Door-to-door Insurance Sales.

Euthanasia is illegal, military funding has been stripped back, citizens select which government department gets their income tax chrismatts each year, and genetic researchers have been expelled. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Legionis Papae's national animal is the ferret and its currency is the chrismatt."

You want to see harassment? I've spend most of my time since May at an anti-Catholic evangelical/fundamentalist website! LOL

Thanks, David. I'll check out the site.

Peace be with you and may you have a wonderful Advent!

Sounds fun lol Remind me to send you my "Baptist Correspondance" sometime. It's really amazing how these people sometimes brainwash themselves for petty reasons. This man with whom I corresponded actually called Catholics Cathols, and thought that Cathols practiced Catholism This man really had some problems.

Sounds like the self-proclaimed end of times prophet I just put on my ignore list. Here is the last post I read:

Quote:
The Word of God tells us of everyone that has went to Heaven and stayed Mary wasnt on any of the Boats that went there.
Sorry to derail your thread. Just thought you should know Mary wasn't on a boat to heaven.

[ahem...cough, cough....]

May I introduce myself? I am the Grand Duchess of the Cat Paradise and Grand Duchy of Belalugosi.

Actually, at present, I am the Grand Duchesses of Belalugosi, due to an Unfortunate Cloning Incident by THEM!!

Oh, yes, and the Sky is Falling!! The Sky is Falling!!!

Hey, bumping this because our founder was just appointed Cardinal by Nationstates Pope Ave Maria.

This is a fun game. I don't get real involved in the forums there, but the game itself is simple. You start a government, and every day you get new 'issues' to deal with. How you choose to respond reflects on how your country grows, or not. And your choices often have unintended consequences!

Come on, you know you want to rule an empire, jump in and start your own country!!!
