See y'all and Merry Christmas!!!!!!!
Joys of the Christmas season to all my CAF buds and buddettes ...
I'm heading off in 9 short hours into the wild blue yonder of the technology-deprived zones (aka my folks' place) for a few weeks.
Be good while I'm gone, and have an eggnog and a piece of cake for me ...

for our family grandma's house is not only a tech free zone (not even a DVD player) but also a salt and sugar free zone, which is even more deprivation--think of it, catsup, PB, jelly, all condiments, all baked goods, salt and sugar free. yikes.
Merry Christmas and safe travel to all.

Yikes ... I'd just either refuse to visit or bring my own full-salt full-sugar supplies of everything.

I remember you mentioning oyster poboys for one thing - which sound good
Of course we have recipes of our own - Dad makes a beautiful tomato-based fish stew (what the Italians call brodetto if you've heard of it).
Well, time to pack away the old laptop (which is travelling with me on this occasion - it'll get use, just not internet access, sadly).
See ya!

Re: See y'all and Merry Christmas!!!!!!!
Have a blessed Christmas Lily !
Now I have a silly question, but I am asking it in all sincerity. Do your Santas dress up in the red velvet suits and all?
I went to Florida a few years ago, the day after Christmas, and I thought it was hysterical that all the depictions of Santa had his big red suit on and it was 80degrees.

Sadly, Christmas here in south Louisiana can be 80 degrees as well. We just had a week of record high temperatures last week. I have been to Midnight Mass in short sleeves. I have been to Midnight Mass when the temperatures were down in the teens.
It looks like we will have a normal Christmas. Yeah, it is crazy to see Santa in a red velvet suit when it is 80 outside.

Well, if it were not for my family, I would have moved south years ago, silly Santas and all!
I hate winter, cold, snow, ice, sleet and "snirt" (mixture of snow and dirt that is what we have right now)
I truly envy people who live in the south for their weather (pass on the hurricaines, though)
