Default Exercise Support Group.....week of 1-6-08

My turn to start!
My goals are 40 in five . I am also looking to start some upper body exercises. AND, I am really going to pay attention to my diet.
Good luck everyone!

Kathy

Thank you for beginning the new thread! I am hopeful of the same goals I had as last week...45 minute cardio, 5 days in the week. (I only did 4 last week) and 3 days of strength training.

Let's keep each other on top of our plan!

Howdy, folks. I started back this morning, and was surprised to run 3 miles and feel just fine. I thought it would be harder after 2 weeks off.

Anyway, my goal is just to take it day by day this week, and see how I do. If all goes well early in the week, I'll try a long run Wednesday or Thursday morning.

My goal is to get in the long run for the week: 1 hour on Saturday.

Wednesday there is a 1 hour ride on the schedule that I may turn into a longer trail ride if the weather holds.

Now that Christmas is over, I have no excuse not to focus on better nutrition.

Valentine's Day is coming...chocolate candy soon to be had. No? Ok, it sounded like a feasible excuse for a moment there. lol

I hear ya--I actually didn't do too badly with my eating over the holidays. New Year's Eve we all went over board, but now with the new year here, it should be somewhat easier to get back to eating healthy--consistently.

Ok, I need to get in here & do this thing, so here goes...

The plan for the week looks like this:
2,200 calories a day

Mon: weights & cardio
Tue: TKD
Wed: Nuthin' (unless you count the walk to & from the light rail station)
Thu: Boot camp class - strength & cardio
Fri: Nuthin'
Sat: weights, cardio, martial arts - some bjj & maybe some bag work

I'll refrain until people start bringing in the candy to work. Then I have trouble.

I put on 5 lbs since Oct, but I'm not distressed about it considering my decrease in training.

This old gal managed slightly less than 9 miles today! And I put 15 minutes on my mini trampoline.

A little over a mile walking today...I'm still not 100% myself, but feeling better...so, at least I got that in.

You're not an old gal Kathy! You are as young as you feel...remember that.

So yesterday turned out pretty well. I got my cardio & weights in. And I ended the day at 2,065 calories. Not bad for day 1 back on the horse.

Hey, Nick, awesome job! Keep it up.

I made it two days in a row running, but skipped this morning. I woke up at 6 AM with a tortured tummy, so I went back to sleep. I didn't get up 'til after 8 AM, and feel like I have a touch of the flu.
