What a good idea for a thread!

I'm a new knitter - all of 2 months now I think. I haven't progressed beyond scarves and made several for Christmas presents. I have some yarn that I want to make into a scarf for myself but I keep frogging it because I haven't found a pattern I like yet.

I'd love to "meet" other knitters out in CAF land.

What's everybodys' favorite thing to make?
I love making blankets or afghans, especially baby blankets. I'm working on my first afghan now and it's taking me forever! I'm looking foward to it being done.( My newborn takes up a lot of my time. )

YAY!!! I was going to start one of these before, but I wasn't sure how high the interest would be.
I love to make pretty much anything! I think my next project will be a bag (knit). Here's a link to the pattern, if you're interested! (Lion Brand- www.lionbrand.com- has tons of great free patterns.)

Good job with your hat! Someday I'll be able to make hats too - I haven't figured out how to make rounds yet. Last time I tried it just ended up in a curved mess. My w.i.p. is my blue striped afghan that's gradually getting done. It's looking so good.

Did you use circular needles or four double pointed needles?

I usually crochet afghans. In fact, I'm thinking about joining my parish's new shawl group. But I haven't attended a meeting yet. As for knitting, every time I try, I keep dropping stitches. That's why I stick with crochet. LOL,ROFL

Hello. I'm working on a cabled sweater for my mom. It's a 4H project. I made one for myself last year so now she gets one. I've been knitting for about 7 or 8 years with about one project a year for fair.

I think a good beginners project would be a washcloth. A lot of times beginners get bogged down on a skarf b/c it's so long and the same thing row after row. I've taught kids to knit and that has been my experience.

God Bless, my fellow knit-wits!

Hi Joyful_1 -- Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe one of these days I'll actually give it a try. In fact, it's one of my goals if I do join the prayer shawl group to learn how to knit. But I guess it is best to start with a small project to get me started.
