Default Exercise support thread--week of 2/10/08

Well, I guess I'll get us started for the new week. It's time to set goals for the coming week.

This month, I'm increasing my long run by 1 more mile, so this morning, I ran 11 miles. That's the most I've ever run intentionally. So, my goal for the week is a total of 26 miles.

Not really, I hope to exercise three times or so this week, since I have been sick lately. I do a mix of strength and endurance training which I explained in the previous thread.

I'm in a recovery week, so my goal is to not exceed the parameters of my training schedule (with one known exception as I always add time to interval runs)

Michael, nice job on the 11 mile run.

Excellent

Yesterday was a 20 mile run followed by a three hour hike with friends this morning. Then, the afternoon was spent wine tasting in Napa Valley (Not exercise exactly...but still fun). Goals for this week are low, as I have a 50k race on Saturday. First of the season! . So maybe ~10-12 mile runs on Tuesday and either Wed or Thurs.

Thanks. My legs aren't thanking me at the moment.

50K? Sheesh, that's more than a marathon! You're my hero!

Hi!

I got my new book - The Essential Walker's Journal by Leslie Sansone. I am so excited!

A new week indeed...

So, for today, I will plug in:

Monday: Took a 20 min stroll with my son (in jogging stroller) and my dog. Planning the WTW 1 mile (Walk the Walk 1 mile).

20 mile run? You're killing me!
I am striving for 25-30 miles a week and feeling proud. You are putting us to shame. Nice job!

Good morning, everyone. My legs are still pretty sore from yesterday's run, but I still managed to get in my 3 mile run this morning. Once I got past the first half mile, my muscles loosened up, and it was much better after that.

I admire your perseverance. Hey are you addicted to running now? Like if you miss a day, you are off?

I think so. Last week, I missed 4 days. It really hurt me, especially with my long run yesterday. I enjoy the solitude of running.

I do too, but sometimes I spend as much time dodging tourist as I do running
