Default Confession of a Thread Killer

Today I ventured into the clubhouse for the first time since its inception because I'm afraid I have killed at least one thread. Alas, in a brief search I didn't find a Thread Killers thread.

Anyway, about my confession I posted what I thought to be a definitive answer which, of course, should have drawn lots of fire. I keep looking at my posts and nope, no replies on that thread. It was a short thread, too -- I felt very bad about killing this little thread. At least if the thread had been closed after my post I may have saved some dignity.

Now I am afraid I cannot receive Communion, and I'm not even sure Thread Killing can be absolved. Also, since I don't see a recent Thread Killers thread that makes me wonder if everyone else was cured of their propensity toward this behavior and I'm missing out -- yet another way I am a failure in the modern age.

Somebody please reply, even with a sigh or something so I won't have killed my own thread before it gets out of gestation.

Thanks in advance,
Alan

Alan, when I look at threads which I have contributed, I see that I must have the same disease as you do. It is a lonely life knowing that without intent you too often kill threads. They are inspired by the Holy Spirit and then the fire of the Paraclete is doused by the ramblings of water balloons like you and I. But we must perservere until our balloon is filled with gas. Hopefully, all this latent desire to light a fire won't result in blowing up CAF. I do always enjoy what you have to say. Birds of a feather. . . . God Bless You.

P.S. I never confess my thread killings because I never do it with intent and thus not a mortal sin.

I see. Less like a wet noodle and more like hot air. I think I can strive for that.

That's a great point. Now I kind of hope one of us kills this thread, unintentionally of course.

Thankfully, we few on CAF have this disease since debates about SS, Mary, OSAS, infallibility, etc. can run on for 1,000 posts. And I can't get anyone to ever answer the question: Was the Cana wine red or white?

Sorry, didn't want to make you have to kill the thread that was my fault to begin with.

I'm guessing they served fish with white wine.

Alan

I too believe I am a thread killer, unfortunately it may even be an addiction. Even though you may not intend to kill a thread, if you have killed more than one, you are on a long road towards addiction. Your first step is to admit that you have a problem.

This is the problem. Threadkillers used to be acceptable like the life of the party. Now with political correctness and everyone thinking they have something important to say, threadkillers are told we need to get help.

Maggie, I refuse to admit that I have a problem. I'm an adult and if I want to kill threads, I will and I will not have goody-two shoes who want to follow the current fad by rambling about nothing at all. When I say what I say, it is the definitive word. And today's word is I like your purple font.

(Truth and Alan: Watch Maggie will derail the thread so it goes on and on.) There is nothing worse than a reformed threadkiller.
