Tea, anyone?
So who really likes tea? I have really gotten into tea recently, and I am learning more about the different types. I really like some of Twinings stuff. I like tea way better than coffee.

Re: Tea, anyone?
I enjoy tea also. I like Lavender Earl Grey from Revolution.
But I also have about 20 different kinds in my kitchen as we speak.

Re: Tea, anyone?
There's a myth around that tea has more caffeine than coffee.
It doesn't, though; a strong cup has less than half the caffeine of coffee.
Why is it great with milk, but not with cream?

Re: Tea, anyone?
some black teas are good with milk. www.twinings.com has a lot of information about tea in general. that lavender earl grey sounds really good, whoever mentioned it. I have Twinings cinnamon apple breakfast tea which is currently one of my favorites.
Does anyone use loose tea? most of mine is tea bags, but i do have one of those little metal mesh infusers that i use sometimes.

I do sometimes. I prefer coffee in beans and tea in leaves.
By the way, try real apple chunks and cinnamon sticks, if you already use tea leaves instead of bags?

Re: Tea, anyone?
I'm a two-timer: I love both coffee and tea. Coffee is really good for your liver, and it has a lot of the antioxidant properties found in tea. In the morning, I have a couple of cups. At night, I take a thermos full of tea (a quart) to work. My favorite is houjicha--a roasted green tea. The roasting takes out the "grassy" flavor and makes the tea smoother and sweeter...and it removes more of the caffeine, which is already minimal in green tea.
If you are interested in premium bulk tea, I recommend Rishi Tea. They are competitively priced and they exhibit honorable business practices.
A tip: For those teas which require steeping water at a lower temperature than boiling (white tea, green tea, oolong, etc.), pick up a cheap instant-read kitchen thermometer (around $5) that you can stick in your tea pot.

Re: Tea, anyone?
My favorite tea for winter drinking is Lapsang Souchong which has a very smoky aroma and taste. It is not for everyone but tea drinkers should give it a try. Twinnings has nice teabag version. During the warmer months I enjoy Earl Grey and Irish Breakfast tea. Bigelow has a very nice Vanilla Chai which is well worth tasting. I don't drink herbal teas very often but Celestial Seasoning's True Blueberry is very tasty. Since I discovered good tea, I rarely drink coffee anymore.

Re: Tea, anyone?
Right now, I have in the house Twinings Earl Grey, Twinings English Breakfast, and Good Earth Green Tea with Lemongrass (all decaf). I also have Red Rose decaf tea (I like the little ceramic animals that come in the boxes ). I also have some Lapsang Souchang and Rooibos (spelling?) hiding around here, too.

Re: Tea, anyone?
Anybody ever had pu-erh tea? It's blacker than coffee and rivals it in caffeine content too. It looks scary, but it has a deep/complex flavor and is surprisingly smooth.
