Default Exercise support thread--week of 3/16/08

Good morning, everyone, and a blessed Passion Sunday to you all.

It's time to set goals for the week. My goals are the same as last week: run 26 miles, including an 11 mile long run. And I want to complete the long run in less than 1:42:00. I'm heading out now for the long run.

Blessed passion sunday to you as well, Michael and everyone!

My goals are to increase my walks to 3.25 to 3 1/2 miles per day (4 days per week)--and 2 days a week, to begin consistently running again. My foot seems to be doing better, so we shall see.

Also, another goal of mine is to consistently do that billy blanks dvd twice per week (I hope so), and upper body weight training 3x per week.

Good luck with your objectives, all! Make it a great week.

I did it! I broke through that 1:40 mark with my 11 mile run. Today's run was 1:38:32. That's almost 2 minutes better than my previous best.

Sharon, just so you don't hurt yourself, that's 8:58/mile. Have fun getting your running going again. It's great to see you coming back so strong.

What a great Palm Sunday it has been. I hope to Lift Weights or walk 45min. everyday this week. Actually wanted to Lift this morning but our neighbors started grilling out last night and a small street party broke out. So all I could muster was a walk for this morning.

By the way what is a "Peeps"? Or what does it mean to "Peeps"?

PEEPS are those yummy marshmallow thingies you see in the stores. They are Easter thingies right now. Bunnies and chicks and such. Try some someday!

Kathy

P.S. As far as exercise goals, I am shooting for some 10 mile days. Weather's getting nicer and sunny!

Thanks Kathy for the clarification. I have not met many sweets I did not like but unfortunately the Peeps, Jello and Gummies are three of them. They just seem to hit my gag reflex. I know TMI

My goal is another 70+ mile week. So far I am at 10, or 30, or somewhere in-between. To be more precise, I did a 10 mile run in the morning, then met up with a friend and hiked 20 miles. That puts 60 miles on my legs in the last 2.5 days, so tomorrow is rest

Well I went to the gym yesterday & it went pretty well...then I came home and ate like crazy. Not a good way to follow up the gym. So my plan is to hit the gym Today, Tues, Thurs, and Sat. And to hopefully get my eating habits back under control and back to 2,200 a day.

Maybe you were just ---- hungry? I watched a program last night...that stated we should only eat when we're hungry. Whatta breakthrough, right? Good job on the gym though!

I meant to post my workout from yesterday--I did 3 miles on the eliptical--I plugged in this 'uphill' climb workout...it went well, I slept like a baby last night, put it that way. Tonight, is the bike.

to everyone who is doing something positive for your health!

Great way to start! Just keep up the good work & pretty soon you'll be running marathons like our good buddy Michael.

not laughing--i think it's great--and we are happy you are here to chime into our thread. good job!

me? i didn't work out last night--i dunno why. sheer laziness...i started getting into my email, and then replying to people...and then cleaning up from dinner...and yadda yadda...no workout. tonight, i'm getting my nails done, so another night of no workout, and didn't pack my workout clothes for lunchtime, either. but tomorrow--is a new day.

make it a great day, people!

Well I made it through an entire TKD class last night. My first one in over a month. I was exhausted! This being sick & not exercising for a long time has really taken it out of me. It's not pretty.
