Default Exercise support thread--week of 3/23/08

HAPPY EASTER, EVERYONE! HE IS RISEN!!!!

Welcome to the new thread for the new week. It's time to set goals for the week. My week will be missing the long run I usually do on Sundays, as we have family coming over today, so I need to spend time tyhis morning getting ready for that. So I'll just be running 3 miles per day, Monday - Friday.

I'm finally feeling well enough to think I can get back into a semi-normal routine. So my goals are 4 days of exercise and 2,400 calories a day.

Hey there - fabulous to see you. I hope your routine is successful!
I have been in a fine and decent routine AND I GAINED a few lbs.
I am so disgusted.

HAPPYBELATED EASTER TO YOU, EVERYBODY.

Sadly, I ate too much chocolate yesterday, and have not worked out in three days. Back at it today--when I get home from work. I truly was busy--but still, I guess I could have squeezed some workou time in.

Have a productive week, all!

Good morning, everyone.

Don't worry, Sharon. Chocolate calories don't count on Easter.

I ran 3 miles this morning.

Maybe you're adding muscle & losing fat. That's always a good thing.

I'll tell ya - I have been increasing my leg weights significantly and I do a ton of leg exercises at the gym every other day - however my pants are getting snug.

If that is the repercussions of exercise - I am simply going to stop. I am so agitated.

Hey, Jenn, don't forget why we excercise. It's not always about losing weight or inches. Evaluate your workout goals, and use that to measure your success. And if one thing doesn't work, try something else. Don't give up.

Well, I was exercising to fit into my wedding dress and clothes.

I was watching Monster-In-Law this weekend, and heard a great line from Jennifer Lopez. Her future mother-in-law was having lunch with her. J-Lo ordered a burger and fries, and the MIL says something about fitting her wedding dress. And J-Lo says, I'm getting a dress to fit my body, not the other way around.

Jenn, you're gonna be a beautiful bride regardless of how much weight you lose, or don't lose.

Well if you're constantly increasing the weight you use for your leg exercises then your legs are going to get bigger. Particularly if you're increasing the weight in big increments. That's how muscles work.

My head knows that - but my jeans do not. Ugh - I really am so upset. However I cannot go to the gym and work out for 2 hours on just a salad either.

But for the next 2 weeks it's diet time.
