I don't have any advice for you, but I know BlestOne is in her 40s and is currently expecting -- Hopefully, she'll respond. If not, PM her, she's a doll, and she loves to talk!

There seems to be plenty of ladies on this board who have had babies into their 40s....as long as you and hubby are healthy and up for it, I can't imagine why not! My mom had me when she was 44 (I'm #6) and I'm pretty glad she did Age is just a number!

I'm in my early thirties, so I can't really help... But with my last pregnancy I took Supermom Vitamins. And it was my best pregnancy yet for fatigue, I felt really great for the most part. I survived though, kept my house clean and hs'ed 3 dc.

Happy pregnancy!

My advice is to go in for a check up before you get pregnant and ask them to run a baseline hormone test. My last miscarriage and current one are most likely progesterone deficiency. Doc said next time I get a positive test I go on progesterone right away.

Geez... I wasn't trying to kill the thread here... Seriously... I have an aquaintance that is 45 and just had her baby... perfectly healthy. My doctor has no problem with dh and me trying again and he thinks as long as we get on progesterone right away it will help.

I'm in my twenties, so this isn't my experience, but my mom had my two youngest siblings in her forties. One at 41 and one at 43. They both turned out healthy and everything went fine...

Oh and ditto to what BlestOne said about progesterone levels and such. It definitely can't hurt to let your doctor know you are trying to conceive and do a couple of blood tests so when you do get that positive pregnancy test, you know if you need medication or not.

Thanks for this thread. I have been debating as to weather get a progestrone test done and ya pushed me over the edge. I emailed my doctor to see if I can get one done up this month. I am 40 and I would love to have one more child born healthy from my womb. We buried two preborn children and I have three that I am working to get to heaven. Those two babies are a God send because I am sure they are hard at work praying for their Momma, Daddy and brother and sisters.

I know my DH's brother's wife (my SIL) had her 3rd child at age 40...

I only remember this because of a great story... DH was on his way to celebrate her 40th birthday party... and was SO PROUD of the card that he found...
It was a typical, humorous card about "being old" and turning 40... but the kicker was the last line of the card...
"At least you're not PREGNANT!"

Only... she WAS!

I just looked at my family tree and discovered my great-grandmother was 40 when she had her 11th and final child, in 1935 my great-grandfather was about 48 at the time My great-grandfather was killed almost two years later and my great-grandmother re-married a few years later. And here I was wondering why she didn't have any children with her second husband Because she was a grandmother by then (Her eldest was born in 1918)!

My Great Aunt had her last child when she was over fifty. She always laughed because her daughter ate free and she could order off the senior menu. My Grandmother had her last two in her 40's. One of my uncles is a year older than I am and one is a year younger.
