Default Exercise support thread--week of 4/13/08

This is the day that the Lord had made. Let us rejoice and workout!

Welcome to a new thread, everyone. It's time to set goals. My goals this week are to run 26 miles, including a long run of 11 miles in less than 1:40:00. I'm also working to improve my pace on my daily 3 mile long runs.

I got a good start to my week, so I'm in a good mood. The scale at the gym says I've lost 6 of the 10 lbs I regained over the past 4 weeks. I also got in 55 minutes of running/walking. Felt good to be able to go for such a long time with most of it being running.

My goals are as follows:

Sun - Cardio (DONE!)
Mon - Weights/Cardio/2,200 calories
Tues - Cardio/TKD/2,200 calories
Weds - Break/2,200 calories
Thurs - Weights/Cardio/2,200 calories
Fri - Break/2,200 calories
Sat - Weights/2,200 calories

Hey there. I need motivation to get back into the groove. I ate my little heart out on our cruise. Now I am behind.

Here is a pic of us from the cruise. I brought my wedding dress (and my husband) for formal night. Too fun!

Hi everyone!

I did my 4th Curves workout this morning, yay!

Also - upped the ante a bit by *also* joining Weight Watchers over the weekend! WW for the food, Curves for the exercise - between the two of them I think I will see some results.

I'd actually tried WW Online a few months ago; I liked it in theory, but without the meetings I didn't really feel any accountability*. So now I'm trying the "monthly pass" which gives you the best of both worlds - the meetings *and* the online stuff. Will let you know how it all works out in practice.

And speaking of working out - I figured out that if I go to Curves during off-peak hours, when there aren't a lot of people around, I can do one minute at each station instead of 30 seconds, and only go around the circuit once, instead of twice. Which I like because the workout feels more intense, and I don't get the "boredom factor" ("oh great, THIS machine again!").

(*sort of like only watching Mass on EWTN and never actually going inside a real church! )

Oh, before I forget, may I humbly repeat my request for a good pre-workout prayer, if anyone's come across one or even written one? Thanks!

Good for you! You will gain more enthusiasm each time you go and see progress. Starting is really the hardest part.

Prayers?
Dear God, make that chocolate cake go away! Please keep me injury free and feeling satisfied.
We ask this in Christ's name. AMEN

Thanks a bunch! Both were so much fun. The mass was so nice and it was not a blur by nerves. I made sure I tunned in and soaked up the entire day - not drinking too much or being in a dream world.
I guess nerves can make it difficult to focus for some - but such was not the case for me.

And the cruise was just so nice and absolutely relaxing.

How about - Lord Jesus please don't let me fall on my face in front of the cute girl on the treadmill next to me!

Yes that one works well too.

Or Dear God, I beg of you to command control of my sweat glads today so as not to offend the masses after my robust workout.

You both look so happy! I pray you both always stay in love - in Christ.
When are you and Mr. coming for dinner? Friday nights are good - fish is low cal and fat free. Think about what works for you and hubby and let me know.
The food on cruises ships is so good and way too much - 24 hours a day! I think most pack on a few extra pounds out at sea.

Yesterday was 2,010 on the calories and a nice long, intense weights and cardio workout. What a great feeling.

I've already got my cardio in for this morning too.
