Exercise support thread--week of 4/27/08
Happy Sunday, everyone. Time for a new thread and a new week. And time to set goals for the week.
I'm supposed to be out running my long run right now, but the Santa Ana winds are blowing, so I have to skip today. Tomorrow I have an early morning flight to Indianapolis, so If I run at all, it will be in the evening. Due to my schedule this week, I'm not sure if/when I can run, so I'm not going to set any specific goals. I'll run when I can.

Nick, you can do this. I know you can. Just remember, with God, all things are possible. If you don't feel like you have the strength, then use His strength.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 4/27/08
Well NO WONDER i felt like i was talking to myself...i WAS...hehe
I did not know the thread was moved, but i am here, and down 7 lbs since i first posted on the other thread. Maybe 2 weeks.
I have to admit, the excercise was intended to be a part of my regimin, but so far it has been due to reducing bad carbs...the flour related ones.
Knee and foot doing better with sweeling reduced, so this is the BEST part, next to loosing weight though.

Good luck on starting up those spring exercises, everyone! Biking season is almost upon us. Does anyone else like to bike?

We start a new thread every Sunday, just to keep THEM off guard.
Congrats on the weight loss. That's just awesome! I wish I could lose weight like that.

I used to love biking, but haven't done it in years. I still have my bike, but it probably would need some work. It's a Panasonic Sport Deluxe racing bike. It would be fun to ride again . . .

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 4/27/08
My goal is another 80+ mile week. Should be do-able since I have a 100k (62 mile) race on Saturday. Until then, I will do 10-15 on Monday and Thursday. Maybe also on Tuesday or Wednesday if either turns out to be a bad day.

THEM...hehe, no clubhouse in you, is there?
any hoo...try this...add 5 pieces of fruit to your diet a day, and watch flour intake...ta da!
potatoe is different, it is a vegetable not made of flour. If it has flour in it, it turns to sugar in your body, and thus alters your matabolism and insulin...storing fat. Reduce it, and the matabolism boosts, and the natural sugar in fruit burns fat, instead of storing it with man made sugars. This includes fake sugar.
I do these two, and i loose about a half a pound a day. Don't get me wrong, flour things show up, but i reduce them as best i can knowing what they do to me.
That's all i did! had i excercised to, i'd have gotten the pound a day off, skip weekends, and that is a total of 5-6 per week when i excercise!

Lana, you make it sound so simple. OK, I'll give it a shot. I'd love to lose 30 pounds, especially before my half marathon in June.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 4/27/08
Hey y'all!
I've been around contrary to what some may think. I have just been lazy. I was at the doc's for my 4,000 mile check-up. Doing ok there. As for my goals, my diabetic counselor told me I needed to increase my exercise. So to that end I have started walking again after morning Mass.
Good Luck All!
Kathy
