Exercise support thread--week of 5/11/08
Happy Sunday, everyone. And Happy Mother's day to all those moms here. It's time to set goals for the week.
My goals are the same as last week: Run 26 miles including an 11 mile long run, which I plan to do this morning.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 5/11/08
I just got back from my 11 mile run. It went quite well. I felt pretty good the whole way.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 5/11/08
Hmmm2.5 hours, and 11 miles covered...
I'd still be on the curb in mile one...two tops!
It is so windy here right now, and overcast...i hope my excercise is not going to be chaseing the lawn furnature before it reaches the corn field. I am in the niagara region, yet in Cape Breton it is a snowwy blizzard right now! How horrifically awful. I am not a winter lover at all. One to many spills for me in the snow.
Packing, moving stuff about for all this week. I really have been procrastinating, but the move will be upon me before i know it. The ankle is much better, so procrasinate i can not.
Kids off Friday, so i have to condense my plans from a 5 day load into a 4 day load.
we'll see!

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 5/11/08
Well another week and I got derailed again towards the end. Not as bad as previous weeks, but still not good. My goals for this week are 2,400 calories a day and:
Mon: Cardio - bike
Tue: Cardio - bike
Wed: Break
Thu: Cardio - run
Fri: Break
Sat: Cardio - run
Here's to a better week...

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 5/11/08
My flight to Seattle last night was delayed by nearly 2 hours, so it was after midnight by the time I got to my hotel. Needless to say, I didn't run this morning. However, I did run this evening to make up for it. My hotel is just off Puget Sound, so I went running along the water. It was very pleasant. Tomorrow I'll run in the morning.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 5/11/08
Yesterday went well. 2,230 calories and my bike class. I think I may have to skip on the bike class for a while. I'm not sure my elbow can handle all the moving and bending and stuff until it's healed. I may just have to stick with running.

I ran 3 miles again this morning along the Puget Sound.
Good job, Nick. Keep it up, bro! You're getting off to a great start.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 5/11/08
I have been a slacker. Sadly. I have excuses, but I won't bore you with them. I am going to be selling my elliptical and treadmill...because we are moving to a townhome which we are thrilled about, but the garage is a wee bit smaller than our large one now....so....I plan on using their gym that the residents can use...
I am doing well with my diet though--I really just have to get back into steady exercise more often than I'm doing. I was doing well for a while there.
Anyways, just checking in to say hello, and that you are all doing superb from what I can see.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 5/11/08
Today went really well. I just got home from 1 hr & 20 min on the treadmill. I made a total of 6.5 miles with 4.25 miles of continuous running. And you know what's amazing - I felt like I could keep going! I also burned 1,200 calories on my adventure.
In light of that wondrousness I allowed myself to eat a little extra. I ended up at 2,750 calories for the day.
Tomorrow is a scheduled day of rest, so I'll just be shooting for 2,400 calories.

Hey, Sharon, it's great to see you. I've been wondering what you've been up to. How's the foot doing? Are you still able to run?

Good job Nick...i am glad you had a good day of it...that is a long time on the tredmill. How is it you can stay focused for so long? Is it in front of the tv, or what?

That's exactly what it is. At my gym every single treadmill has it's own tv with about 10 channels on it. I just plug my headphones in & watch ESPN.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 5/11/08
That is so cool! I am easily distracted...I'd want to watch a good movie...like Nell...since i have it nearly memorized. Or Anna and the king, LOTR, Gladiator...ok, i need the tredmill first!
