Default Exercise support thread--week of 5/18/08

Good morning, everyone, and Happy Sunday. I hope you're all having a great day. It's time to set our goals for the week.

My goal for the week is to run 26 miles, including an 11 mile long run, which I plan to do this morning.

Good luck on your 11 mile run.

My week started off good with my weigh-in. I'm back down to the weight I was before I fell off the wagon a couple of months ago. Now I just need to keep it up.

My goals are again 2,400 calories per day & I think I'll allow myself 1 day of freedom to eat whatever. Going down to Northridge to visit my brother on Weds & Thurs. He's graduating from college on Thurs. So I'm guessing I won't get any exercise in on those days. Exercise as follows:

Sun: Bike (done this morning)
Mon: BIke
Tue: Run
Wed: Off
Thu: Off
Fri: Run
Sat: Run

Well, I'm back from my run. It was the worst 11 mile run ever for me. It's hot and dry here, and I was getting dehydrated and losing energy fast. I carry a water bottle, but it just wasn't enough.

BTW, Nick, Northridge is about a 75 minute drive from me.

Sorry the run didn't go so hot.

Really??? Maybe we'll have to meet up for a run one of these times I go down to hang with my brother.

I would love that. Or, if you have time to meet for lunch, we could meet half way. I'm on vacation this week, working on the house.

Company landed just an hour ago 3-4 days early...tis my nephew staying with me for a week or a bit over.

Not sure how this will effect my efforts, but i will have an extra pair of hands for help in the evenings now.

Might at least be insentive to get things readied for the move, if i can not excercise etc.

Keep me in your prayers! Nothing worse than getting started, and the wagon wisping you away!

Lana

Exercise did not go well at all tonight. I increased my running pace, but only lasted just over 2 miles. Then I started feeling a bit weird so I slowed down & ended up getting REALLY light headed. I think I may have actually blacked out briefly at one point. Luckily I had stopped & sat down on the treadmill before that. Once I felt better I decided I should call it a day & left. I still managed a total of almost 3 miles and 500 calories.

Now you have two days off...keep an eye out for why you felt dizzy and/or faint. I will keep you on my spiritual tredmill...

remember, careful...

Thanks!

The guy at the gym thinks I may have just gotten completely exhauseted. He was asking me all kinds of questions about what I'd been eating & drinking for the past several days. He thinks I might have just been totally tired & depleted my electrolytes. In light of yesterday's excitement I think I may take it easy on Friday & Saturday. Maybe ride the bike or go for a light jog/walk to see what happens.

Good idea...but i might be concerned for you if you were test piloting your demeanor away from home. Would you conscider just hanging around home for a few tries to prove you are not ill?

Ahhh, ever the mom, sorry!

I will pray for your nourishment and recovery. Please be careful. I have been using the latest Gatorade called Tiger and it seems to help me.

I did 140 kicks yesterday with each leg. I will go to TKD tonight but it is just awards so it will just be sitting around mostly.

Friday I will ride bike and try to do 160 kicks with each leg.
Saturday I will do dumbbells ( I got a new dumbbell book with more routines) and cut the grass (no small endevor at my house)
