Default Limerick thread

This thread is dedicated to the Victorian tradition of composing limericks (which did not originate in Limerick, Ireland). Each limerick need not be related to the preceding one. Please do not post filthy limericks or ones with obscene innuendos -- only clean ones, please!

There once was a gal from Kilkenny
Who dined on those small pigs from Guinea.
When she started her meal, it uttered a squeal.
The next course then shot out a whinny.

There was a young girl from Quebec,
Found frozen in snow to her neck,
When asked, Is you friz,
She replied, Yes I is,
But we don't call this cold in Quebec.

Cool Re: Limerick thread

I am sure this would meet with Vatican approval -- A Latin Limerick
Perhaps you will get the gist anyway
Olim erat ille Darth Vader
Quo terrore utatur imperator
Skywalker pugnavit
Manus ab eo cadit
Dicit "Lucas: Ego sum pater!"

There once was a pundit named Tee
Who posted Latin with glee
No translation was found
Though his words were profound

(The narrative breaks off at this point...........one suspects that Bro had a fairly good idea of where the Limerick was going [e.g. downhill] and so he took the better course of maintaining the dignity of this august thread).

A candidate was running this fall,
His opponent and he went to brawl,
When something quite sinister,
Was preached by his minister,
And the media was having a ball.

A brother, one Hrolf we called he,
Full genius, 'nd gracious he'd be,
But for lack of an end,
He's let down his here friend,
For refusin' such ends as "2 P".

The Reverend Henry Ward Beecher
Said the ;hen is a wonderful creature.
The hen just for that
Laid an egg in his hat.
Thus did the hen reward Beecher.

There was an Old Man with a beard,
Who said 'It is just as I feared!
Two Owls and a Hen,
Four Larks and a Wren,
Have all built their nests in my beard"!

There once was the famous Darth Vader
Put to use by the emperor for terror
Skywalker bereft
Of his hand (call him "Left-

Tee tortures the latin, indeed,
For sure makes my cardium BLEED,
But don't make 'im STOP,
Just give me a mop,
'N I'll gladly hear more of his screed!

Young Johnny attended USC
To obtain some philosophy degrees.
Four years of tuition
Has come to fruition.
And now he asks, "want fries with these?"
