Exercise support thread--week of 6/8/2008
Good morning, and a Blessed Sunday, everyone. It's time to set new goals for the week. This will be a light week for me, as I'm skipping my long run this week. So I'll be running 3 miles per day, Monday - Friday. No run today. I'm recovering from yesterday's half marathon.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 6/8/2008
nick--see his 'stats' in the prior thread--so impressive!
Today, I plan on spinning...I need to get out some anger over a situation with this realtor we're dealing with...long story! But, I think I'm gonna start exercising at my work gym during lunch--then it's done, and I have no excuses. I am glad we have this thread...it's like a constant reminder for what I need to do!
Have a blessed week, all.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 6/8/2008
I 'spun' for about 40 minutes today...it was great, I'm tired though. I also did some push ups, and sit ups. I know that when I exercise regularly, I sleep like a babe, and I have gotten away from the regularity of my workouts. So, hopefully, tonight...I won't be waking up multiple times.
Hope everyone is doing well...it's nice to be back here wit something to report.

Mon - Eliptical & weights (2,400 calories)
Tue - Bike class (2,200 calories)
Wed - Eliptical & weights (2,400 calories)
Thu - Run (2,800 calories)
Fri - Break (2,000 calories)
Sat - Run & weights (2,400 calories)

Good Monday Morning all
Goals this week: Fill in my Light Weigh workbook everyday (this weekend I missed doing it but just continue with today's date). Do exercise 1-2 miles a day with Leslie Sansone, as well as use my elliptical for 10 mins a day (until I feel good enough to up it 20 mins).

Hi imamom;
Aren't elitpicals tough? I do roughly 30 minutes, and frankly, can handle 45 minutes of any other exercise over that thing! It is tough. I am truly beat when I get off.
Let's motivate one another shall we, when it comes to the eliptical? It's on the agenda for my routine tonight.

Ooooohhhh...peanut butter pirate ones...hmmm...yummy.
I have found a nice sweet alternative to cookies, etc...it's Fiber One granola bars in peanut butter or caramel. 10 grams of fiber...which is wow. And you wouldn't have a clue that you're eating something healthy, that is how great they taste. That might help anyone here struggling to kick your sweet tooth.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 6/8/2008
Good morning, everyone. I gotta tell you, my legs are really sore! What I don't get is that all day Saturday after the half marathon, my legs felt fine. But around 9:30 Sunday morning they started hurting, espcially the upper thighs. It's hard to walk. But I figure I gotta keep the muscles limber, so I ran 3 miles this morning on the treadmill.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 6/8/2008
I went for 30 minutes on the eliptical. Why I torture myself with that thing, I don't know! But, it is better than the pounding on my left foot from running. Just not ready yet. It's getting better though. I'm hoping in about a month, I'll be ready to begin running again.
Also did about 15 minutes of upper body weights.
That was all the fun I could stand.
Have a nice night, all!

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 6/8/2008
Sharon, I'm thinking about alternating running with the eliptical. We still have our eliptical. It's in the warehouse, so I would have to go get it and bring it back to the house. But it's such a good workout. Now that I'm past the half marathon, I'll probably take the time to go get it and set it up next to my treadmill.

Lana, are you sure about that? You sound like you're not sure. Have you used an eliptical before? If not, you can probably find a gym that will allow you to try one at no charge. Most gyms will allow people to try them out for one day, and you could the opportunity to test drive an eliptical.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 6/8/2008
They have a Curves just down the road, but i just can not bring myself to enter the door. It is one of my hugest fobias, what others think of me. Even though i am much better over the past year or so dealing with enabeling, and stopping this, and standing up for myself...body immage is the hardest one for me.
I can not even look at my reflection in a department stores door. My eyes sweep the ground untill i nearly bang my head on it. There are many years way deep down inside, that have not healed from a background of viscious rape and torture sessions.
Although i was an 18 year old girl at the time, and 130 lbs...i never felt so ugly...it never went away. Now i am 44, and 290 lbs. I see very little difference in the way i fear the world views me. Believe me, i am the one that says, please can we have a table, i can not fit in the booth. One too many times!
The idea of excercising is a closet idea...and if i could do it in the dark...all the better!
The ecliptical sounds like a definite workout, but for the never ending sore ankle, low impact is a must.
