Default Exercise support thread--week of 6/15/2008

Good morning, everyone, and Happy Father's Day!

Welcome to our new thread. It's time to set goals for the week. My goal is to run 23 miles, including an 8 mile long run. I plan to do my long run this morning.

My goal this week is just to exercise four times. It probably won't kill me.

I'll be praying for you. 4 times is a pretty good goal.

I finished my 8 mile run, a little slower than I prefer, but it's warm here, and warm weather makes running tough.

Thanks, Michael. I went for a long and wonderful hike with a friend today.

In a conversation today with a friend, I said something new and wonderful about my relationship to losing weight. This is the last time I get to lose weight. I am really going to enjoy losing weight this last time. I'm enlisting some friends to make a game out of this -- looking for opportunities to make this last time tons of fun.

My goal is to do weights 3x, and cardio 5x...shifting between spinning, eliptical, and Billy Blanks. Hope everyone has a super week!

Well I didn't set any goals at the beginning of this week & now it doesn't look like I'll really be able to. The bottom of my foot is all tore up. I've got 2 huge blisters that have opened & it hurts to even walk right now. I'm hoping to get some exercise the rest of the week, though I'm not sure how that'll work.

I did manage a 40 min run/walk yesterday (which made the blisters worse).

Calorie totals have been good so far though.

Ain't that the truth! I went running midafternoon yesterday when it was 93. I had a really hard time. Ended up having to take several walking breaks.

Good morning, everyone. How's your week going? I'm keeping up with my 3 miles/day running.

Good work, Michael.

I'm still at just one bout of exercise this week. But I've had a couple days of health issues. We're planning a big hike on Sunday. I just need to exercise twice between now and then to make my goal

I forced myself out the door at 6am and walked 45 mins with the dog near the river - uphill, downhill, flat.... whew! I sweat loads!

Well Wednesday went well. I ended at 2,060 calories. Yesterday was a complete blow up though. I was supposed to go to the gym after teaching. Instead I sat around and pigged out. I did manage to get some ab work & some shadow boxing in, but definitely no where near enough to compensate for the gross amount of calories I stuffed down.

I had to get up at 5 AM to do my 3 mile run this morning. We're expecting a high of 102 today, so I wanted to run before it got too warm.

You're amazing, Michael. The temps out there by control+alt+delete are much higher than I realized.
