Default Exercise support thread--week of 6/22/2008

Good morning, and a Blessed Sunday to you all. May God pour His blessings on each of you this day.

Welcome to our new thread for the week. It's time to set our goals for the week. My goals are to run 23 miles, including an 8 mile long run, which I plan to do this morning. I need to get out there quickly, as the temperatures are going to soar today. We're expecting a high of 106.

Michael...missed being here, but really had nothing to show for.

But i decided to add the following:

Stairclimber = Up and down my brothers stairs all week as i painted his apartment.

Cutting back intake = forgetting to eat, as i was in an empty apt.

Shampooing carpet = found muscles i never knew i had

Purging = giving away a lot of stuff i did not need, and place it in his apt.

Loss = 7 more lbs gone

Goals: do the same for self this week, I move on Saturday!

Had to start taking the anti-inflamitory's for bad knee and ankles.
But it kept me going. Had to, had no strength to get out of the bath tub a few days ago. Crying, i had to instruct my 10 year old in finding them, and giving them to me with advil. An hour latter, and warming the tub up twice, i was able to get out.

Lana, you'[re getting quite a workout. And your weight loss is going swimmingly. Good job! Good luck with the move. I wish I was there to help you.

OK, I'm gonna try this again. My goal for the week is to exercise four times for 40 minutes each. (Last week only made twice, but I still lost a few pounds by taking grains out of my diet. Go figure )

I'm gonna get tested for some food allergies this week and get some professional advice on this whole weight loss thing. Now there are some goals I can live into!

God bless you all.

I ran 3 miles on teh treadmill this morning, so I'm up to 11 for the week so far.

Gertie, good job on the aggressive goals. I know you can do it! You can do all things in Christ, who gives you strength.

So you got your run in before the excruciating heat? I bet it was still around 80 when you ran....and to us, that is way too hot.
I stand in awe.

I got up before work and went to the gym. That's gonna have to be my routine this summer. It's too difficult after work because the summer weather is too scarce and precious in NY. Got to go bike riding and garden weeding and just plain 'ol sipping wine on my deck.

Hubby promised to get up with me and head out to the gym but was snuzzin' away when I left.

Hi, Jenn;

I got up just after 5, and got on the treadmill before 6, so the temperature was still in the low 70s. Not too bad. The recent heatwave is breaking today. We're expecting a high of only 95 today, and 91 tomorrow. It's going to get downright chilly tomorrow!

Hey job on sticking to the gym. Commitment is what it takes, and you've got that.

oh - I thought it was an outdoor run. But that would be a nice run in great temps.

I am much more a morning person - prefer to exercise in the AM but my children's school schedule did not facilitate exercise.

Oldest has no idea how to wake up to something called an alarm clock. Mom has to nag him out of bed at 6:15 - and keep him moving till 7. Then I start the whole process again at 7 with kid #2.

School let out last Friday so I have a few months to myself.

I only run outside on Sundays, when I do my long run. I can run 3 miles on the treadmill, but not 8 miles. I would get bored.

I completely understand. I have a daughter who thinks AM is just a option on the radio.

We're moving soon--remember last year, this was a very handy excuse Michael when I stopped working out? I was doing pretty good, and then the past week or so, just have been slacking. Eating well, just not spending enough time working out. I need some words of encouragement from my CAF friends here...

Moving again? Why so soon? Where are you moving to?

How's that foot doing? You're still in my prayers. You know, Sharon, you can slack off a little while moving, as it's quite a workout in itself. Just don't use the move as an excuse for the next 6 months.

aye aye capt'n i will try not to! lol

We are moving 1 mile from where we are now... because the homeowner in the home we're renting is going into foreclosure, and we don't want to buy this home, afterall. Nice home, but has problems, and we can get a brand new home for the same price, interestingly, with the way things are heading in Florida. Our plan is to stay in this new home for about 2 years, and then build our own 'eco friendly' house...we shall see!

I actually plan to do some spinning work tonight, with 15 minutes of upper body weights...that would get me focused again.

PS; My left foot is still a problem....

ME TOO....sigh!

sore ankles, sore hand...it's in a sling, and not a shaddow around to help me...even my husband has just simply not come home.

Cat fell off a low dresser, got her leg caught in the handle, and her body was hanging. Instinctively, i grabbed her to lift her up, and she was not as sure of my help. I have 7 puncture wounds on the side of my palm/pinky finger. Swollen and infected by morning, doc put me on heavy antibotics, tetnas shot, and put it in a sling, with a warning to keep an eye out for a poison line going up my arm.

Packing came to a screaching hault! Move is still scheduled for Saturday.

Grrrrrr......

Lana
