Exercise support thread--week of 7/20/2008
Good morning, everyone, and Happy New Week! It's time to set goals for the week. My goals are the same as last week: Run 23 miles, including an 8 mile long run. I plan to head out shortly for my long run.

I'm back from my 8 mile run. It's cool and overcast; perfect weather for a run like this. I finished in 1:12:34.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 7/20/2008
It is extremely humid and hot here lately. The humidity is what gets me. I am shallow breathing, light headed, selling up from the knees down, and can not bend my foot straight anylonger. Feels like the skin is going to crack open.
Imparative for me to get meds in for breathing...this means calling in the puffers for me...lost other one in the move. Also needing to clamp down on sodium and flour based carbs big time. Feeling lathargic, and sleepy.
I just got the...is this all you did all day...i was so sore, i just said yes it is...maybe tommorow i will do just as much and we can celebrate...and went to bed for a bit.
Got to 11 lbs...soooo close. Weight is not my concern this week, not getting phnemonia is. I bet by Wednesday, i will have a chest infection...i feel the rattle starting already.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 7/20/2008
Just got back from a good mission trip with our high school youth group. And we ate surprisingly good while we were up there so it wouldn't surprise me if I gained weight. I think my goals for this week are just going to be to start getting back into my exercise and eating routine.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 7/20/2008
Good morning, everyone. I ran 3 miles yesterday morning, but not this morning. I went to the gym in the hotel, and all 3 treadmills were occupied. I'll have to run after work this evening.

I forget that you travel a lot Michael...did you get a chance to workout after work, then? I still marvel at the fact that you manage to get up so bright and early to workout. I guess I'm a wimp in this regard....just love my sleep.

DH...we'll skip the D for now...the crank horse! Miserable cuss lately, and unwilling to help. He's old school, and believes Women cater to men, and do everything outside of them working. Everything else is entirely the womans responsibility, and he gets the praise.
I was not raised that way, wound that way and kiss no mans feet. Seems this clashes when WE try and work together. I am so willing to offer all of the help i can, but i will not be bullied, brow bet or spoken to like that.
In his family, this means i am unworthy of him, and i am an embarasment...We do not see them much.
Where or who lives so neanderthal like anymore...??
I am game for most things...integrity and spirituality is not for sale. This girls not crackin on these points!

I got busy after work, and didn't run yesterday, so I have a day to make up. So this morning, I got up at 5, got ready quickly and headed down to the fitness center. I got on a treadmill, and within 5 minutes, and the machines were taken. I was surprised how many people get up that early to work out. Come on, Sharon, you can do it, too.

I finished my week off this morning with my final 3 mile run, achieving my 23 miles for the week. How's everyone else doing?

Hi, Lana. You sound like my dad: "My get up and go, got up and went." We all have times like that. Just remember, you can do all thing in Christ, who strengthens you. God loves you, and will never leave you. I love you, too.
Have you gotten settled in yet? I know it takes time. It took us over a year after our last move.

Re: Exercise support thread--week of 7/20/2008
I am as settled as i can be for now. There is nothing more i can do except try and mannage to aquire shelving for all 4 rooms. I have completely ran out of space to PUT things. The bathroom has a tiny cabnet, only big enough for towels and toiletpaper. There is nothing else for "stuff"...so the "stuff" is still in clear bins we are rooting through.
When it comes to my bedroom, same happening. On my end table is stacked...19 inch tv, cable box, dvd player, and ever so delecately, the boom box on top...not a single space for even a dresser, so we have to make a corner shelving to house this up high.
Then the girls are bombarded with Stuff in a small room. Bought the wrong S video cable for their computer, so i am going to have to go hunting for another one. I gave them my sons big gel screen monitor, because it is TV ready. So we got rid of so much from the two rooms. They got rid of the tv, dvd player, and are capable of making the computer be the PC, DVD player, and TV once i get the right cord.
This then gives each of us a place to go, when the other steems up our coller from being so close. Space loss is definitely cramping our styles. And for the last blessed time, i wish my husband would stop looking at me like, "still nothing more done"
I have lots of ideas, but moving all of the bags infront of the door for him to step over (he so did), i was prepared for the line he was going to deliver. I said, "took me hours moving everything over there, just so i could dust under the heap...so tommorrow i will do the same...isn't that a good idea?"
It was the blankest look i ever recieved from him. However, it is 3 days since he has asked...lol
Money so tight, and to aquire this shelving is a catch 22. So it will have to be slower.
Oooo, we do have a shower curtain now (much easier to shower now ~ not scaleing the wall as to not wet the place), and window curtains up now...this took two pay periods, and a sewing machine for altering the lengths. I was able to do all 3....51 x 51 inch windows for 22 bucks, plus tax...including hardware. The forth window was half the width. So 22+22+22+12=78 Plus tax (15%)...so for 100 bucks aprox.
Next job, finding someone to re-cover the backs of my medicine cabnets to strengthen the mountability of them...they have always been used at the end of a hallway and we have never used them for the right job...but they are heavy heavy solid oak cabnets. My brother said we have to screw on a new backing rather than paneling. I tried pricing cheap ones...and the cheap ones were out of my league. I think plywood will be a cheaper fix for my nice ones.
Ok, we call that rambeling...but you asked...lol
BTW, your prayers at just the right moment are so uplifting. How easily a nice word makes the cup seem half full. Thank you!!!
Lana
