Default Exercise support thread--week of 8/24/2008

Good morning, everyone. I pray that you all have a very Blessed Sunday. It's time to set goals for the week. My goals will be slightly scaled back from the usual. I plan to run 20 miles this week through Thursday. I'll be doing a large sound job next weekend, starting on Thursday with setup. So I won't be able to run at all next weekend.

Who's next?

I just got back from my 8 mile run. It was awful! It's hot and dry here, and I really struggled to keep my energy up.

Hi, Ted, that looks like a pretty good week, especially the schedule for Friday. What part of Florida will you be visiting? I spent a year near Tampa when I was young.

Ending up in Cape Coral. My wife has an aunt there we will stay with. Cape Coral is on the Gulf side toward the bottom of the state. It will be about a 700 mile drive for us from Charlotte. I am looking forward to the time with my wife. I think she is looking forward to the time away from work.

still 8 miles in the heat is amazing. Good job.
We are soggy and cool here in NY. Still I gotta say summer in NY is wonderful - it will only be in the 70's here this week. ahhhhh.

Well the end to last week didn't go so well. Despite my best efforts on Friday to finish the day healthy, I didn't want to hurt the high school girls' feelings after they spent a long time preparing dinner & dessert, so I ended up eating a second dinner. Saturday was a mess food-wise. Guess that's what I get for hanging with teenagers. They can - and will - eat anything and everything. Luckily I have nothing crazy or fancy going on this week to derail me. I'm going to aim for 2,000 calories for 6 days & 1,500 calories for 1 day. Yesterday I missed the mark a bit. Ended at 2,170.

For exercise I'm definitely committing to Tues, Thur, & Sat. I hope to get some in today too, but it will depend on how long my errands take this afternoon.

So the lock in went well excpet for the eating part of it?

Don't beat yourself up over it. I saw some of your cal posts last week and you did great.

2,170 is not all that bad either.

Nick - even if you exercise for 30 min today, that can drop a few hundred cals. Come on!!!! You can fit it in.

I'm at home most of this week, so I'm back to running on the treadmill. I did 3 miles this morning.

Ted, I never went to Cape Coral. I stayed pretty much within the Tampa area. Have a great time. We'll be looking forward to hearing about it when you get back.

It went ok. Some things were good, but some things were not too great. Overall we got plenty of stuff done so that was good.

Overslept this morning.

Shooting for the next 5 mornings.

3 with 30 min eliptical+20 min weights+10 min stretch & sit ups.

2 with 45 min eliptical+10 min stretch & sit ups.

Plus some walking or biking with the family and or dog.

Hoping to weigh in on Fri morning at 175 to 177, meaning any week I don't go up a pound or two is a successful week in my eyes and any week I drop a pound or two is a bonus. 10 to 15 pounds to go.

Well Monday wasn't bad - 2,250 calories & 30 minutes on the treadmill. Yesterday was NOT GOOD! I slept passed my gym time & then went out to eat twice. I think today is going to be a very low calorie day.

Hi, everyone. I did my final run of the week this morning, so I'm up to 20 for the week. I'll be leaving shortly for Anaheim, CA, and the annual SCRC conference. It's the nations largest Catholic Charismatic conference. I'll be doing the sound for the conference.

I stepped on the scale this morning and seen I actually lost 8 kg this month not 5 kg! That's 17.6 lbs!

I worked out every day this week --

Mon: Swimming laps 1 hr
Tues: Water aerobics 1 hr
Weds: Water aerobics 1 hr
Thurs: Swimming laps 1 hr
Fri: Swimming laps 40 mins (20 laps)

I took it easy today as my body (muscles) were still tired. My weekends are my rest days. Thank God! I give all glory to Him! He gives me strength to perservere!

Have a fantastic weekend!
