Question and Answer
This game is pretty straight forward. You answer the question of the previous person and then post a new one of your own.
Enjoy --
Kathy
What is the last movie you went to? Did you enjoy it?

Hi Kathy!!!
Now this is sad....I think it was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I think I'd have liked it better had I not just re-read the book.
If you had to paint your house a really hideous color, what would you choose?

Maybe I would choose to color it a really hideous shade of black or Grey. That way it would be a really creepy house and be perfect for Halloween. It would also scare away strangers.
What would the inside of your house be like, if you could afford everything you would want for it, inside and out?

CLEAN!!! With things like wooden filing cabinets, storage areas for all the STUFF that's currently cluttering up the floor. Fresh paint, matching furniture. Maybe a two car garage instead of a carport. And side by side parking in the driveway. And a good sized backyard for the kids to play in.
If you were offered an all expense paid trip anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I'd want to take a trip around the world where I could spend with my entire family. We would go everywhere we want to go. Everyone would be able to choose some of the locals. I know we would all want to visit Ireland. While there, I'd like to get to know at least some of my relatives there. In Germany it would be the same thing. Also, one of my brother-in-law's would want to visit Sweden. The other would probably want to visit Poland. Maybe, just maybe along the way, I would meet the right man and we would be married in the exact local of our choosing, and not have to worry about the wedding expenses or our honeymoon.
Who is the person who has challenged you most in your lifetime?

With out a doubt, my daughter. She has given me more grey hairs! And I don't think she's finished yet.
Would you have plastic surgery if there was no possibility of anything going wrong, just because you want to??

No, I don't think so. It's too costly for one thing. I think I'll just age gracefully as I am.
If you were to have a tattoo, what would it be and where would it be?

Are we suppose to be discussing politics on this site? Anyway, let's just say that the person I want to win has a female for a running mate.
Knowing what you know now, would you have voted for President Kennedy?

okay, I'd considered that after I wrote it, but it was more of a who do you THINK will win, rather than who do you WANT to win. I'm walking a thin line, I know.
Hmmm....well, in all honesty, my history is not that great, and that was sort of before my time. It seems like I know more about his personal life, than his actual presidency. I can say that I don't think I would have wanted him teaching CCD at my parish.
Do you think that the church will ever change it's stance on women's ordination?
(boy am I a troublemaker or what???)

Hi Katie
Yes, you're being a little bit of a troublemaker today. I'm not going to tell anyone though. Anyway, I'm not so sure the Church will change it's views on ordination because she has particular reasons for that particular issue. BTW, there are people in my family who have difficulties with that particular issue.
Did you attend Mass today or yesterday?

(So far, this thread seems to be a Kristie and Kathy thread! Can I join in? )
(And, yes, Kristie, you're being a troublemaker, but we troublemakers make life interesting!! )
I am convinced that the Church will one day change its stance on women's ordination. (1) I don't think anyone will ever convince me that as inspired as the Scriptures are, they were still written by men in a society where women were basically chattel. I am sure that first century men could not possibly conceive of a woman being a leader of any kind. (2) The argument that only men were at the Last Supper. See #1 above. (3) Since Jesus specifically commissioned a woman to preach the Gospel (Mary Magdalen at the empty tomb), we are going against Jesus' word by not allowing women to preach, i.e. at least becoming deacons. (4) Whether or not women become priests has absolutely nothing to do with any dogma - Jesus would still be God, Son of God, Word of God; He still would have been conceived by the Holy Spirit and become incarnate in a virgin birth from an immaculately conceived mother; He still would have suffered and died for us and rose again; God would still be the Father Almighty who created heaven and earth; Jesus would still be ascended into heaven where He sits at the Father's right hand; He will still be the judge of all the living and the dead; there would still be a Holy Spirit, a Holy Catholic Church, a communion of saints, a resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. (Notice how no where in our creeds does it mention the gender of priests???) (5) I hope with all my heart that some day someone in the hierarchy will come to the realization of the disparity in the number of Sacraments. Theoretically, men can receive 9 Sacraments. (Baptism, Confirmation, Penance, Eucharist, Anointing, Marriage, Ordination [to the Diaconate], Ordination [wife dies, becomes a priest], Ordination [is such a good priest, he gets made a bishop]) Women can receive only 6, and if they become a nun instead of marrying, they receive only 5 since consecration in religious life, or the consecrated lay life, is not a Sacrament. The argument that no one has the right to receive any Sacrament is load of bull because it still doesn't change the fact that a man can receive all of the Sacraments of the Church and a women cannot.
Well, these are just a few of my reasons...
What would you do with the winnings if you won 50 million dollars?

Re: Question and Answer
If I won 50 million dollars I would spend a good deal of it on stopping women from being priests.
If you could write a children's book (K-2 grade level), what would the subject be?

First off, yes, GemmaRose, you are most certainly welcome to join in with us. The more the merrier.
The first thing I would do with it is invest it, so it will continue to grow. Then, I'd be sure that my entire family is taken care of in any way that is humanly possible. Also, I would make sure that I also use it to help others who are truely in need. With that amount of money, it would be a REAL SIN not to share it with all those who are truely in need.
