Smile Exercise Support Thread for week of 10/19!!

Sorry I'm late in getting this thread up. Michael sent me a pm, saying he wouldn't be able to start this week's thread...so here I am.

My family and I kicked off this week with a power walk--together. It was really fun, and the weather here in Tampa Bay is quite breezy...bright blue skies. Great exercise weather. We went about 2.5 miles. I even jogged...yay, and my foot's fine.

What's your goals for the week?

Hope everyone has a blessed week!

Hi, everyone. I'm in Dallas this week for a business conference. I'm one of the speakers at this conference. I'm giving two talks, the first one is at 9:15 this morning. Yesterday was a travel day, so I didn't get to work out. This morning, I'm mostly focused on my talk. My goal is to get some running in this week, but I don't know how much, or when.

Just checking in for my typical early-week goal setting message. Which of course I will fail miserably at & not show up again until the beginning of next week.

As for my 5k training, right now I'm running close to 2 miles without breaks.

there's the spirit! Come on now...you are one of the most inspiring people in this thread.

At least you're planning to run a 5k. I have always wanted to...and then something stops me.

I went for a light jog with hubby tonight. This is the first in a while that we have gone jogging together...it was great!

I hope everyone else is doing well so far this week. Tomorrow marks midway...how are you all doing?

Well I guess you can just chalk that up to being able to talk a good game, but not being able to actually live it.

Yes--it was a lot of fun. It's funny...we walk/jog around this lake when we go for walks...we live in a neighborhood with a lot of manmade smaller lakes...and as we know, gators love these types of lakes. Last night we saw one...and that made us run a bit faster.

Once the daylight savings time kicks in...I'll have to hurry to get my workout in outdoors...too many critters come out at night here in Florida...

Howdy, y'all (Can you tell I'm in Texas?). The hotel here has an outdoor running track, made of hard rubber. It's a quarter mile, and really nice. I finally got to try it out yesterday. I ran 3 miles yesterday and 3 more today. But I check out today, so I won't be able to use it tomorrow.

How's everyone else doing?

I just got back from the gym. Ran the full 3.2 miles. Granted it was on a treadmill & at the "blistering" pace of 11.34 a mile, but it's nice to know I can do it.

Now if I could just control my eating...

I should be working out RIGHT NOW, but I'm here...typing away. I actually am pretty tired today. Have been sleeping well, but...well...it's a female thing. We'll leave it at that. And I just don't feel like myself for some reason. I am not getting sick, but just not like me.

I was going to go for a walk, but the weather outside looks pretty dismal...like it's about to rain any second.

Glad to see you Michael...

nick--do you think 11.34 is.........slow?

Yes. Especially since 5 yrs ago I could do it in under 8 mins per mile, and just last year I was doing it at under 10. So to be at 11 1/2 now is disappointing to me.

Remember...slow or not, it was acomplished!

Do not talk yourself into feeling bad...for it is good news!

Lana (one who is unable to run dear)

keep trying...this is what matters!
