Radio archives: Where did they go?
Recently, non-profit organizations like Catholic Answers were alerted to music licensing issues that could negatively affect us due to the fact that we provide web programming and play bumper music at various points during our shows--music that may require that we pay licensing fees to continue using. It is our intention to comply with laws regarding music licensing. It may become cost prohibitive for us to continue offering shows aired prior to April 2008 on the web. Until it is clear to us what requirements we are subject to regarding the use of this music, we are forced to remove the shows that aired prior to April 1, 2008 from the web. Since April 1, 2008, we have been using bumper music that is owned by us and, therefore, we may freely post the shows containing our owned music on the web.
When and how this issue will be resolved is out of our hands. Be assured that if it is possible to make our archived shows that aired before April 1, 2008 available on the web in the future, then we will do so. It is not known when this issue will be resolved or if it will be resolved in a way that allows us to resume offering the older shows on the web.
All those shows airing on or after April 1, 2008 will be made available.
