Talking PC vs Mac!!

The great debate my friends! I am....a Mac-Head! I use a MacBook Pro w/Leopard! I LOVE it. My wife is in University and sort of has to use a PC, but she admits to liking the feel of Mac better. Now this is VERY subjective, I have been using Apple since the early 80's so I have a soft spot, I had one of the early Macs, it was SO cutting edge at the time! But, I would like to hear from my brothers and sisters here! What do you like PC or Mac? I am going to do a poll, BUT I would love feedback on why you like one over the other. Grace and Peace.

It's a genetic thing, I think. You're either a PC or a MAC person.

I'm a PC person!

I would love to use a Mac but am angry at Apple's donation to the Prop. 8 issue in California. So, I'm still doing PC.

I decided long ago that if I stopped buying a product based on the companies political/social agendas I would never have anything cool. I just gave up, God will be their judge.

I don't have a ton of Apple experience though did troubleshoot hardware installations to them in the late 90's. I first used Apple computers with the IIE (open apple and closed apple, I still remember that) and one of the first (if not first?) Macs where the computer was a fraction of the length of the keyboard... looked more like a toy and took the 3.5 in disks, our IIEs in college took the 5 25 though we did have 1 old Polo computer that took an 8 inch disk... had even less storage space than the 5.25.

Some day, may try a Mac (modern version). Did get to play a little with our crash Mac computer but not long bouts and not enough to really be a Mac user. How has the freeware/shareware market gotten for them? Close to the PC yet? Freeware good!

Are you aware that Microsoft is a major funder of "planned parenthood" and have been so for many years?

I was not aware of Apple's donation and it too is unfortunate. In this case I'd consider Apple the lesser evil here.

Who really makes serious decisions based upon a 'coolness' factor? That aside, if we solely look at it technically, Apple's OSX is still superior to the PC and it can do just about anything windows can do because of virtualization technology.

Anyways, neither fare well in regard to the culture of life, but millions of murdered babies is worse than broken families.

Freeware/shareware is a moot point. Actually the Mac has _more_ software options than the PC/Windows (except for gaming); I say this because you can natively run windows inside a Mac. So besides the windows software selection, you also have a Mac software selection.

Another point: freeware in general (but especially for windows) is often riddled with spyware; the exception here would be open source software.

I am qualified to say all of this because I use all of them on a daily basis.

You should have included this option on your poll:

"I would love to own a Mac but can only afford a PC."

The freeware games I have were from old BBSs and were for my computers before I had Windows XP. Those I use in Windows 98 (yeah, this computer is a dual boot with 98 & XP and no, it won't ever be able to do Vista). I have ME too but didn't like it. Have an old 386 that has Windows for Workgroups 3.11 (OLD!) and that had some games on it too... haven't booted it up in eons though. I think there is still some good freeware around (I hope) being made but a lot of my faves were what was from BBSs. There were quite a few great download sections on ones we had locally... those were the days. I even have an IBM XT that still works, don't have a monitor connected to it right now.
