Default Exercise Support Thread Week of 11/9/2008

Hey, everyone, welcome to a new week. It's time to refocus our efforts and dedicate ourselves to the care of the Temple of the Holy Spirit. So, let's set our goals for the week.

My goals will be scaled back a bot for this week. I couldn't do my long run today, as we had a surprise storm move in overnight. It rained quite heavily. I have a crazy schedule this week, but should still be able to run 3 miles per day, for 15 miles total.

Hi Michael...inspiring goals, as always, coming from you.

In reference to the prior thread...my dh will be turning 50 in January...and he feels pretty good too. I really can't figure out my back problem. I must have done something, and twisted it...maybe a herniated disk. It doesn't feel like a muscle thing, or a pinched nerve. It is better than last week...but, it's painful near my tail bone. Like I fell or something but didn't!

My goals for the week are to do 4 days of power walking, 3 days of lifting weights. I'll try to do 3 miles per walk...

Here's to health...make it a great week, everyone.

I got in my 3 mile run this morning, before heading out of town. The rest of the week I'll be running on hotel treadmills (In San Diego and San Francisco).

Yesterday I got in X Bike, but I didn't get in my weights. So I did that this morning. I'll do X Bike again tonight, or maybe TKD, or maybe both...

Nick, what is X Bike? Is that something that used to be a bike, but isn't anymore?

LOL! X Bike is an indoor mountain biking class. This company took the stationary bike & redesigned it to make it like a mountain bike. It's the most intense class I've ever been in.

Weds was a scheduled day off, but I did go for a bit of leisurely 30 minute walk. Thurs I did weights, and short run, & TKD. Today is a scheduled break.

Hey everyone--how are you?

Well..my days of working out alone are over. My husband has found a buddy of his who used to body build as a hobby, to workout with...and a woman at work asked me on Friday, if I'd work out with her during our lunch hours at the downstairs gym. YAY! Now, I will have no excuses whatsoever. It will keep me consistent. I have been pretty good on my own, but having someone to push me will be good.

Have a blessed weekend, all.
