In winter I often wear a hat, usually a beret, and I've been taking it off at Mass because I don't see other women wearing any hats, except maybe one lady. My husband says it's actually ok to wear one but he is not allowed.
It certainly is fine for a women to cover her head in Church. It wasn't all that long ago that it was required. Some SIsters still do. Go for it!
