Default Exercise Support Thread Week of 11/23/2008

Welcome to a new thread, everyone. It's time to set goals for the week. My goals are to run 24 miles, including a 9 mile long run, scheduled for today.

Hey, Sharon, did I miss something? What's this I hear about skin surgery?

Good idea, Nick. Can I make a suggestion? Can you plan your food for the entire week now? That way, you have a specific plan to stick to. It might make it easier to keep the commitment that way.

I just got back from my 9 mile run. It's been 3 weeks since I've done a long run, so it was a bit of a challenge, but I made it.

Hi Michael;

Oh I thought you knew...I posted a prayer thread about it a while back. I have been pushing this surgery off and off...but next Friday--I'll be having mohs surgery, which is a surgery to remove cancer cells. I shouldn't be rolling my eyes, but this surgery just seems so stupid to me. I had a small mole on my forehead, and had it removed...it came back positive for basal cell carcinoma...and now I have to have the cells underneath the skin removed...

I mean, whatever. It just is an inconvenience. lol Ugh. But, I'm a bit calmer now...

I was just talking to dh...and we are going to start jogging together. We had started that, and then, I'm not sure what stopped us from doing that.

Anyways...you are going strong...look at you. Good for you!

I hope you have a great week. Please keep this *stupid* surgery in your prayers. Thanks.

I do kinda plan my meals out in advance. It's sticking to that plan that I have been having a problem with.

Yesterday went well. Did my bike class & ended the day at 1,890 calories.

The last 2 days have been good!

Monday - weights, bike, 2,230 cals
Tuesday - bike, 2,205 cals (no run cuz my legs were really sore from Monday)

Today may end up being an unscheduled rest day cuz my muscles are STILL sore from Monday.

Yesterday I ended up walking an hour on the treadmill & 2,190 cals.

I am STILL sore from Monday's weight training.

Off to try my hand at my first 5K. I doubt I'll be able to run the whole thing, but I'm gonna give it a shot anyway.

That's awesome work, nick....good for you.

I managed to go for a nice long 'power walk' yesterday WITH my SIL. LOL--Good way to burn off Thanksgiving dinner. My family and I celebrated yesterday, because hubby had to work today...

I really need to watch the calories...it can be tempting to taste everything during the holidays, but just a smidgen here and there can add up!

Let's continue to keep exercise on the list!

Well, I stuck with my plan for the week, and ran 3 miles per day, reaching my goal of 24 miles. Thanksgiving was . . . well . . . let's just say I need to keep running.

Nick, great job on the 5K! That's awesome.

Sharon, you are in my prayers, my friend.
