Default Exercise Support Thread Week of 12/7/2008

Good morning, everyone. Welcome to the second week of Advent. As we prepare our hearts for the coming Savior, let us also prepare our bodies. It's time to set our goals for the week.

This morning, I will be running in a 15K race. I'll let you know how it goes when I get back. Then I plan to take the rest of the week off to allow my body to recover. This also means I need to really watch my diet this week, which will be difficult, as I will be on a business trip.

May God be with you on your journey Michael.
I lost 7 lbs durring the mad rush of cleaning...
I am in hopes to keep up the pace, and get
another 15 lbs off before xmas.

My weaker than other goals set here are, to keep moving, keep on meds, and to not allow the closing into self (zoneing and couch potatoe stuff) as this year is hard. Five years this January 4th for the death of my teenage son Will (Just shy of his 19th BD)

I am having a hard time this year...both my girls were so young, and do not even remember him except in picture and deed from talking about him. So many plans, dreams and asperations to live for God. I also have no one in the family to share a spiritual life with either, and this is a very hard thing to be without.

Such a beautiful spirit...how i wish the girls had the gift of remembering him. But it is not meant to be. No one gets the loss i feel, and it does not go away. How i wish i could hug him one more time, and know, that he knows i love and miss him so.

Lana

I'm going for 2,000 calories every day this week except Sat. I have 2 Christmas parties to go to that night so I figure I'll allow myself some freedom.

Sun - No Exercise
Mon - Weights & Bike
Tue - Bike & TKD
Wed - No Exercise
Thu - Weights & TKD
Fri - No Exercise
Sat - Weights and/or Cardio

Thanks for the wishes. I'm back home now, and cleaned up. I ran the race in 1:21:24, a little better than I had expected. They had a free pancake breakfast and free massages for all the runners. It was awesome, quite a fun event.

Lana, I didn't know your son, but I understand how you feel. It's hard for anyone to get it that isn't a parent. May God be with you, my dear.

Nick, I like your goals, especially the 2,000 calorie part. Be firm on that! You can do it.

I do not fully understand the calorie intake thingy...

I gain weight on 500 calories a day. How does this work for you?

Great job Michael!! you earned the rest this week

Rammy heres a as your son's death anniversary comes up
That is awesome, weight loss from cleaning.

Awesome job Nick!

Did my 100 abs. And did quite a bit of cooking for the week...
Thought we would head to the pool ... did not happen.
It is coooold here...-10 with -20 windchill....

When I lost the 40 lbs it was the work out and 1200 to 1500 cals a day.....
Well in the last 10 months have put on 10 lbs.
Wish I could control the cals again as I would like to take of 30-35lbs
Oh well....

I met my goals last week and hope to repeat 'em again this week: Step classes Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Nice going. Sounds fun too. Classes can be very motivating.

Yep, been doing them since late 1993 or so. Much better than the time I'd spent prior on NordicTrak's, bicycles, stairclimbers, etc.

Lana,
Wow - it must really be hard when your daughters just have no memory any longer. I am sorry.

Keep up with the meds and keep moving like you suggested. Both will help. Praise God for the little daily joys you have and He will give you strength to overcome this upcoming anniversary with grace.

Michael,
Nice job on the race. It's just something I can't do so I admire you for your accomplishments.

Have a good week and stay healthy.
